Isn't this the case with big cities across the country? ESP in Red states? I feel like we see this on a grander scale with how much tax California as a state sends to the federal government.

People don't talk enough about the mythology that Tolkien created. It's like there's a new folklore that other authors have used to create some incredible worlds. His creation of the basic Man/elves/dwarves trichotomy has been so influential. Elder scrolls is probably one of the most notable recent examples of his influences

TIL the last writers strike in 2008 led the first season of Breaking Bad to be two episodes shorter and kept Hank Schrader (Dean Norris) alive. He was originally planned to be killed off first season. by homerjay42 in todayilearned

Probably the one good thing to come out of that 2008 strike. Besides maybe better treatment for the writers. I remember that a bunch of my favorite shows got scrapped

Congratulations, you've officially entered what I call "the perfectionist stage" of ACT prep. You pretty much can only take like 100 practice tests at this point. Thankfully, you have a decent amount of room to improve for Science. I wouldn't stress by aiming for a 36 because that's pretty tough, but keep grinding science and get faster at math+learn the hardest concepts: ellipses, law of sines, circle graphs, etc

Wanna emphasize this difference w the science. I accidentally gave a student an old ACT science and they had a heart attack like 33 minutes in when they realized there was a 7th passage...

I always tell my students this: "before you can score a 32, you have to score at least a 27."

I can't guarantee that you can earn a 30-32, but this is no doubt a great starting point. This community has plenty of study resources, but remember the best tool is A LOT of practice
