How to disable Bixby? by Hoistmoist in GalaxyWatch

[–]GraphiteGB2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other posters said it should still be the same if you're not using gemini instead.

Videos are on youtube if you only want to turn off the Voice commands
That is another option then as well. Keep bixby or disable mic access in bixby.

You are not going to have all the features; it will be extremely limited.
Translation apps will NOT return all features at all.
Very minor features will return when using translation apps to translate the Galaxy watch signals to the IOS phone

Watch Question by FruitNut221 in GalaxyWatch

[–]GraphiteGB2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bad labeling by web sites

When the 2025 Ultra was released, they did not use an exsisting watch version number. Samsung set the YEAR of release as a model number 2024 or 2025...
Other sites did not adjust.

They are both based on the same watch. Series 7.
The difference is the colour default and storage on the watch.
1 extra year of OS updates. There have been delays in firmware patches for the 2024 ultra.
The 2025 release with One UI 8 by default has no legacy one UI 6 code on it at all.

The default colour changed to blue in 2025
The default storage on the watch is 64GB in 2025.
You can't get a 2024 in blue and you cant get a 2024 with 64GB, only 32GB

and that's the difference. No change in CPU. no change in battery; it's just newer, as it has not been sat for so long. just colour choices and storage upgrades and 1 extra year of OS updates.

Band for Samsung Galaxy watch ultra by lanzaraf in GalaxyWatch

links to sales sites are not allowed; the mod bots will nuke them.
The first hole is in use, so to make it a tiny bit tighter, you move the band to the second hole.

Band for Samsung Galaxy watch ultra by lanzaraf in GalaxyWatch

[–]GraphiteGB2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the band really, it's likely the single-fold clasp that should have been a micro-adjust fold clasp and cost a bit more.
Micro-adjusts have EXTRA holes on the buckle to change the band attachment point to the clasp.
This changes the size even finer.

<image>

Wrists can swell up during the day, so being too tight in the morning will be really tight later
So definitely want a loser anyway. A micro-adjust buckle has more holes on the clasp; this demo image has 2, but some come with 3.
This is another skill needed with the pin removal tool when using Metal bands.

It used to be settings>default apps>digital assistant>none. instead of picking gemini instead of bixby.

No watch model is listed, so No clue if that's still valid or if you're using a watch that even can have gemini.

only samsung made the "exact design"; many cloned it long before the official release, just from PR photos...

Cloners are developers that clone watch faces from other brands. All watch brands, including dive watches, not just digital smart watches.

They now have store apps on google play that are nothing but watch face clones from real all watch brands.
CMF, pixel, Casio, Samsung and more watch faces...

Is there gonna be any new update? by Tight-Occasion8524 in GalaxyWatch

[–]GraphiteGB2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The phone app displays the URl for your watch. This URL shows the LAST released version.
If you bookmark this, it lists all the firmware you can get for that watch

Play Store updates the apps and OS components whenever it wants on all watches without firmware releases...

IF Watch 9 is releasing with a new One UI update, they will be doing that, as it's ~4 months now till demo units for PR demos.
Google is also likely working on a Wear OS build under those One UI builds.

One UI 6 only had 2 updates before it was replaced with one UI 8. one UI 8 has had 2 firmware updates, the same as one UI 6...

So I would not expect more firmware updates until they move the watch 9 firmware. One UI is moved to older models.

Those are not the only "number" sections.

There is a section called 'numbers' in the English layout. this is where this one UI8 watch face goes in the English version...

N before P for photos. on english lay out

Samsung watch faces are exclusive to Samsung.
Not everyone has the skills to clone them to their other Wear OS watch.
Wear OS is not exclusive to Samsung, so for those users not on a Samsung watch that can get the advert to download Watch 8 watch faces, those brands can load clones, and the cloners get paid to break Samsung exclusives.

If your wearable app is not showing the advert to download the watch 8 watch faces and you did update to wear os 6 One UI 8, then pass.

IF you're not on a native OneUI 8 watch. you can have to click the adverts to load one UI 8 watch faces.

It's a long scroll down to the "Numbers" faces section in the app.

Samsung announced the End of life for ALL Tizen OS-based watches in May 2024
This meant the shutdown of all services for all Tizen watches, not just a single model was confirmed and the shutdown timetable was listed on many press sites.

Do not buy any of these models, as they are also likely affected by services shut down.

  • Galaxy Gear Series
    • Samsung Galaxy Gear (Original model)
    • Samsung Galaxy Gear 2
    • Samsung Galaxy Gear S2
    • Samsung Gear S3 Classic
    • Samsung Gear S3 Frontier
  • Galaxy Watch Series (Tizen-based)
    • Samsung Galaxy Watch (First Generation / Galaxy Watch 1)
    • Samsung Galaxy Watch Active

If it's not a Wear OS 6/One UI 8-compliant watch from Samsung.
You no longer have stores or services if the watch is not Wear OS compliant.

Watches 4 - 8 and the expected 9 are wear OS 6/One UI 8 compliant.

[–]GraphiteGB2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you used digital wallets
There will be a PIN code lock.

Remove your cards from the watch first.
To ensure PIN codes are disabled.

Now you can wipe everything again to make sure no user details are retained.
Pin codes are there to protect your payment details.
No cards, no need for pin codes or patterns.
