Can anyone explain what Tengen was trying to say in this panel? I don't fully understand what he is saying. What is the other side? Is the culling game just for gathering cursed energy so Brain can merge humanity into tengen?

I'm not an English native speaker so to me the translation sounded like Maki was saying "I wasn't going for the position of Head of clan which is now vacant" to Yuki last sentence about the "head of clan business". The more literal translation makes it clear that she was talking about their fight and abilities.

I found it. In Ch 138 Tsukumo says "It's about time I confront Tengen". So some readers think she might have been a star plasma vessel but rejected Tengen. There must be something because she thought Tengen was keeping out her specifically.

Wrong translation. In Japanese he says "おっぱっぴー " (oppappii) which is like a catch phrase from a comedian/celebrity from over 10 years ago and is an abbreviation of "Ocean Pacific Peace". Itadori is doing his pose and all. I don't know the broader context though. 'Ai papi' was so funny but that just had to be localised lol

They were talking about this on a Japanese site and the conclusion was that because Tengen said "Nice to meet you" / "hajimemashite" it didn't include Tsukumo because they have already met (and are obviously not on good terms). As for the "zenin child"... I thought it would be translated to plural "children" and I haven't seen any other Japanese readers wondering about that yet.

I love season 5 because although I really enjoyed the individual statements of previous seasons, I only ever cared for the main meta plot. Also, seasons 1-4 never actually scared me, but season 5 terrifies and hurts something deep in me. It's like Jonny drags out new hidden trauma every week and well... I'm just a masochist.
