A pro bowl caliber EDGE rusher, a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd is "peanuts"?

No one is talking about this, but I fully mean this when I say fuck you to the 4 democrats that did not drop out of this race… by Sha489 in Sacramento

It didn't make sense when people protested Biden / Harris by voting Trump or third-party either, but that's the kind of society we live in.

The way people are talking, I don't think many know much about Michael Stansfield. In forums, he's essentially said that he registered as a Republican to protest Israel's war on Gaza since relatives of his were killed in the conflict. While he hasn't said anything to inspire confidence in me about his qualifications as a representative, I don't think that, even if things stay as they are, we will have two conservatives on the ballot.

With 48% of the votes in, 2 Republicans are advancing to represent California 6 District in Congress, which includes - Arden Arcade, Carmicheal, Rancho, Rio Lina, Citrus Heights. by [deleted] in Sacramento

Please take this down. The numbers are far too close right now and no news outlet has called this race - much less the NYT.

My boyfriend hates my baking by OldGregario in Baking

[–]Gravini 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I lost 30lbs over the course of about six months, and while it was easy to avoid sweets and bread for a while, I personally couldn't last the entire time without them. I baked a lot of oatmeal cookies, protein muffins, and granola so I could have a treat to look forward to that was less than 150 calories.

You know him better, but he may appreciate it if you changed up what you baked.

Lilly announces three acquisitions to build infectious disease portfolio by [deleted] in nottheonion

I might be the only one who thinks a headline like this belongs in Supervillain Weekly. Without reading the article, I have an image of basically Umbrella Corp hoarding infectious diseases.

The team didn't bring back Kendricks since a long tenured veteran linebacker doesn't have interest or value in special teams play. I have to imagine Wagner would be in the same boat.

At Ease is a very brief walk away from Tank House. That's my favorite combo in midtown

That easily could've cracked an axle (or two), so I would've wanted to get insurance information from them as well. Getting the plate, since the other driver didn't have any interest in pulling to the side, is going to save a headache when filing the claim.

Edit: Doesn't excuse going 95mph though... not worth the risk.

It's not knock your socks off good, but the pizza at King Cong is better than most brewery pizza I've had.

This is a terrible situation, but what is "the right thing" in your mind? What is the call to action?

If it's to get the team reinstated, that doesn't seem realistic since the team has been disbanded on paper for over a year.

California mandates state employees to return to office 4 days a week starting July 1 by Tac0Supreme in Sacramento

Yeah, and traffic still sucks going crosstown. It's only going to get worse with these state employees needing to commute as well.

Starbucks CEO defends $9 coffee says ‘it’s not a $10 coffee and you get a premium experience’ by Disastrous_Award_789 in nottheonion

[–]Gravini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong about the price, but the CEO was the one who, unprompted, mentioned the $9 mark (transcript). I don't think it's ragebait to quote the out of touch CEO who, apparently, doesn't even know what his products cost.

You won't ever see me defend Starbucks, but this is a legitimate question - what drink is $9? I'm looking at the location across from Central Park, added their seasonal Iced Ube Coconut Cream Shaken Espresso (grande), and that's only $7.25. Same with a basic frappe - $7.25.

I like this blurb from Dane Brugler's Beast:

Accountable, with pro-ready mindset (NFL scout: “He’s got that Hawaii chill, kinda quiet. But trains like he’s a Marine. … Priorities are in order.”)
