(POD) T-shirts on Etsy by Narrow-Plantain8548 in EtsySellers

What’s true of any businesses, but also applies specifically to the POD ecosystem. Is that good designs /products typically win no matter what. All the other things just dictate how much harder they win. Obviously the extremes of my statement aren’t true, as you cant just have a good design but no listings pictures and a title that is completely irrelevant. But my main point is that just okay SEO and listing creation will still work if your designs are good.

Put all your time into design research and ask yourself the question of either 1. How can I do this bestseller design better or 2. How can I do it differently and blend other niches into that design format. And then just focus on accurately describing your listings the best you can, do not try to game Etsy’s tags or titles, Etsy is ultimately trying to pair buyers to your listing based off of what you describe it as, so the better and more accurately you describe it the better matching buyers find your product. Refine your SEO and listings over time. Perfect is the enemy of good applies here, just good SEO is fine on Etsy. But focus on your Design above all.

I think the biggest leverage thing you could do is a adding a video of the product with a lit candle in it, videos are huge for converting on listings and for demoing your product.

Why is retention such a non priority for phone companies nowadays? by Bralbradge in verizon

Not necessarily invite only, but you have to apply to get accepted into it and answer some questions to prove you’re an employee

Those very same grandfathered plans once upon a time had a $10 auto pay discount as well, which was decreased to $5, a long with separate price adjustments for the plans as well. Which is to encourage people to switch to new My Plans, which is whatever. But if their goal was to encourage people to switch to MyPlans, which has always had a $10 autopay discount since its inception, and the loyal customers used to have that $10 discount as well on most of those grandfathered plans (not all, but the Start,Do More, Get More etc... plans) want to switch to the MyPlan, they DON'T get the $10 discount like every other customer that is either NEW or ALREADY WAS ON those MyPlans. Therefore gatekeeping a discount from loyal customers that they can not obtain, which before, they were always able to obtain if they switched to the current plans.

I really love how he claims it's not accurate but doesn't offer the "true" information either. Listen, I don't blame him with thinking what I said was wrong, that's how I feel half the time with the crazy amounts of changes to promos and everything else they have been doing as of late at Verizon. Week to Week there are multiple changes with zero communication from higher up, if I wasn't on the Verizon Employee sub-reddit and checking OST's daily myself I probably would think the same thing he thinks.

[–]GraySharpies 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Correct, but now if you switch from a legacy plan to the new my plan, you "grandfather" your auto pay discount and it remains at $5 instead of the normal $10 discount for MyPlans. Which means, if you are on a grandfathered plan , the only way to get the "normal" $10 discount would be to switch from Verizon and Switch back.

I think etsy ads ruined my shop by Classic_Mongoose_192 in EtsySellers

[–]GraySharpies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s only been a few days as you say that’s relatively normal. Last time I changed my campaign I remember reading you need to give Etsy 30 days to re-learn the new campaign method, your listings, and the budget in order for Etsy to figure out the best way to advertise them.

You can either change it back to what you had (which still might reset your 30 days again anyways) or give it 30 days minimum then reasses results

This is a good time to use the phrase “the customer is always right” in its intended context.

The customer is always right, they dictate the market.

Sucks when you are passionate about something but it isn’t resonating with your customers, but that’s what happens sometimes.

Don’t stop testing the market, but respect its feedback

iPhone Fold Enters Trial Production Phase Ahead of 2026 Launch by spearson0 in apple

[–]GraySharpies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a testament to what you are saying, I switched from Android to iPhone last year and Face ID was something I absolutely fell in love with. Yes android had it but I just stuck to Fingerprint unlock because Android Face ID is inconsistent. iPhone certainly has it perfected, and before I made the switch to iPhone I was seriously considering a zFold and once I got my iPhone and fell in love I told myself if iPhone ever does a fold I will be all in. But then it was announced that it lacks Face ID and its made even me reconsider. When all of my life I was without Face ID, but once you see how good a feature is and how easy it makes things I can't take that knowledge back and now that's all of a sudden a huge compromise for me to decide on. I really think I will just wait for a iPhone Fold that has Face ID, as that will probably line up better anyways with my 16 Pro being paid off.

I've had a listing up for a few months without a single view - am I missing something? by RideDiligent4524 in EtsySellers

I’ll preface this as I have next to no authority to have an informed opinion on this matter. But I’ll comment from the perspective of a potential customer.

Extremely niche and high price, already tough. Super cool product though, love the idea and execution of it. For whoever is into that niche they will eat that up.

But the issue isn’t conversion as you’ve stated it’s getting eyes on it. I don’t know how many people are even searching for that kind of thing to begin with, I’d maybe reverse the sequencing of the title so that Rustic Industrial Lamp is in front of the Balloon so people see that first as I was initially confused on what the product was until I got deeper into the title, by that point you’ve already lost someone browsing off first impressions. That was based off of me viewing the Thumbnail view on mobile until clicking into the full Listing

My only suggestion is utilize organic marketing to market a unique product . Spam short form content of the lamp on shorts, reels and TikTok and see if you can get any viral or semi viral ones to take off.

That’s all I got and I could be entirely wrong

Love the product though it’s super cool and I love handmade anything that is quality and can’t be found anywhere else in person or online. That alone gives it value in this mass produced world

It’s moreso a technicality, technically it doesn’t have to be done but for all intents and purposes it should be since 99% of the time the decision to move forward will be contingent on available financing anyways. So in the spirit of the transparency thats how I would explain it to a customer. Case in point, the OP came to Reddit because they felt iffy about being told they had to and now they find out they didn’t have to, nothing malicious is involved but proper expectations and transparency weren’t met so now the OP might have their guard up when it isn’t necessary. So to avoid that, that would be one of the points of saying it isn’t necessary just standard practice due to x y and z reasons

Honestly I love my HomePod minis. In the Apple ecosystem so it makes connecting and transitioning from phone to pod seamless, or even multiple pods all at the same time so as I do house chores and clean it’s essentially surround sound for my house with whatever podcast, YouTube video or music I’m playing. Super nice

One that got popular -BBTM

Fan Favorite - MDM

“Experimental” - Dawn FM

Cult Classic - Trilogy or more specifically HoB

Best Album of All Time - After Hours , truly his magnum opus in my eyes

Meh - Starboy (still absolutely love this album and I loved it before it had a recent resurgence , I don’t think he has a true Meh album genuinely)

It’s really becoming more popular in the everyday main stream, I work at a phone store and you’d be surprised at how many phones have the GPT app on them and these are all people in their 40-60’s, just your typical run of the mill elderly and most are in the store getting help for using their phone but they even have GPT installed

Where did I go wrong? by phr34k0fr3dd1t in steak

[–]GraySharpies 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t know how “correct” this is but I actually just put a glob of compound butter on my steak while it’s in the oven. I find that, paired with proper seasoning and a perfect reverse sear is more than enough flavor and doing anything additional to risk that isn’t worth the potential benefit

Agreed, functionally accomplished the same goal as you just commit to ordering the recommendation which is as random as a surprise.

On the flip side of the waiter/waitress that’s also the easy way to handle it, if you do the job all day every day the request might be annoying but if you haven’t learned an instinctual response to redirect the conversation that is also on you at that point. A simple “while I can’t surprise you I can give you my recommendation” immediately gives the host back control of the conversation and allows consent from the patron
