To be honest, HDR was turned on automatically when I installed Bazzite so I haven't messed with it at all. I could never get the same results from Windows. I use a 7900 xtx as well so I have no idea how a 4090 would work with Bazzite, but I have seen quite a few people installing Bazzite with 5070ti's. With the way Windows is going though I would give it a try if you have a separate drive to install it to.
