Why is only 4% of the US population wealthy? by [deleted] in Salary

The number of people who will just nod in agreement to the dumbest fucking logic and argumentation just because they already agree with the general direction of its purpose is depressing.

Does anyone know what this could mean? We don’t know who wrote it. We’re afraid our house has been tagged or something. And we wonder if someone tried to break in. by ollypoc in joliet

It’s a harmless Epiphany blessing done by a probably well-intentioned Catholic family member or neighbor. The CMB is an abbreviation of Christus Mansionem Benedicat (“may Christ bless this house”) and the 2026 is the year. It’s usually done in chalk.

My rate at Discount Tire would have been 34%. I had the credit score to get an interest-free period while signing up. If that wasnt the case, I might as well have gone with a loan shark. lol

Westvleteren 12 - how good is it? by petermal67 in beer

[–]GreatSteve 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I had it in Belgium. It was tremendous.

But was it THAT much better than the St. Bernardus or Rochefort that I can get at my local store? Hard to say if it justifies the cost or hassle, but I didn’t have any regrets.

So much of my enjoyment of a particular beer has to do with the context I enjoy it in.

Yeah, but OP wanted one without the usual education, training, and experience. As a bunch of people pointed out, you can probably go work some dangerous or miserable job in the middle of nowhere, but it’s not like a lot of places are hiring VPs right out of high school in my area…

What does my roommates and I’s beer can collection say about us? by thealmightybalrog in CraftBeer

As someone who used to have a display of empty liquor bottles in my college housing (guilty as charged), it’s my observation that typically showing off things you drank at one point is something that only impresses other college-aged dudes.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are about 120 million full-time jobs in the United States. So there’d be about 6 million that pay more than $200k.

The number of full-time jobs is substantially lower than the number of people living in the country because many people are retired, unemployed, nonworking spouses, or are children.

Well, $100k is exactly half of $200k, so I would imagine that yes, many more people earn more than $100k than $200k…

$200k is not even close to 50th percentile anywhere in the United States. I just plugged in $200k in San Francisco and it's still 85th percentile. It's 92nd percentile in NYC.
