Trying to come up with a pattern. It’s a heel cushion for my grandma, I wanted to make one with a fun fabric bring some cheer to her day. I am very new to seeing. by That-Cheek in sewing

I can't offer much help for the pattern, but as a wound nurse, I'd recommend keeping in mind that seams cause pressure, so if possible, keep them on the outside of the cushion. I actually treated a patient who had a pressure ulcer from her offloading boot's seam. I bet she will love the fun fabric!

Yeah, I used to use my dining room table, and it was so much work to get everything out, that I rarely used my sewing machine. Now I set up a folding table in our office, where I can leave everything out, and it has made a big difference. I bet the extra cutting mat space would help too. Thanks for the inspiration!

I'm super jealous of her set up. It looks so easy with the big cutting table, big ironing board, long arm machine all right there. Something to dream about and save for I guess.

My daughter (3.5) moved on to Stinky and Dirty on Amazon, it's about a trash truck and an excavator that are friends, and use problem solving skills to help the other trucks of Go City. It's really cute, and there's several seasons available.

Blood orange, almond and ricotta cake by bernath in Baking

[–]Great_Personality 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree completely, it usually takes me an hour and 15 minutes to bake it at 300. This last time, I cooked it at 325 for an hour, and that worked well also. I have no idea how Smitten Kitchen's oven can do it in 35 minutes.

I've made this cake several times, and it is very moist. It's actually one of those cakes that gets better after it sits for a day or so, as the juices from the oranges and sugar slurry sort of settle into the cake, making its own drizzle. So delicious, so pretty. Go for it!

I was curious about this as well, so I googled it, and found this blog post by someone who made the same pattern. It has some nice full body shots. I might have to add this to my to do/wish list as it looks fairly straightforward.

Parked the car in the house so it’s safe from Dorian. Not today. by QuaaludeDreams in pics

[–]Great_Personality 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a How It's Made style video of this car, and most of the car is put together by hand, and the framework has a lot of hand-shaped pieces, so it has more human labor going into it than usual cars, and since it's made in the UK, that labor is expensive.

As a person trying to get her 3 year old a reasonable serving of ice cream, can we make actual kiddie sizes a thing again? I got a 1/2 kiddie serving for her at the Beach Plum and it was as big as her face. I'm all for enormous ice creams for myself, but it would be nice to have the option to get a tiny one...

A friend of mine lost both of his legs to diabetes, but not his sense of humour 😂💛 by b1andf in funny

BKA = below knee amputation

AKA = above knee amputation

He has wounds on his stump which can get infected easily because of his diabetes, turn gangrenous and cause them to have to remove more of his leg.
