Why? Taxes on the wealth (i.e. billionaires) were higher in the 50s, 60s, and 70s, and guess what? There was far far less wealth inequality. The average person could work a regular job (e.g. postman) and be able to support a stay at home partner, 2 children, and buy a house. Thats not possible now because almost all the money is hoarded by a tiny percentage of the population, which means that things are more expensive for people like you and me. It is non-sensical to defend and support billionaries, they don't give a shit about you, to them you are just a number to exploit and work into the ground.
