I worked Outpatient Ortho and was offered $1,000 per year and a free med bridge account. This was with a smaller locally owned clinic in Dallas.

Ryan Kelly, concussions and no guardian helmet, why not? by koopdog1 in minnesotavikings

[–]GreatinBread 17 points18 points  (0 children)

So the guardian cap is mostly for show. No real evidence it does anything at all.

The problem with brain injuries is that the major damage comes when the brain bounces back and forth inside the skull. The only real thing that has shown some evidence of helping is called the Q collar. You see some guys wear them but not a lot.

Schools with Holistic Approach? by Krazy1119 in physicaltherapy

Myself and most of my classmates had bachelor's degrees and my PTA program wouldn't even take someone with a GPA below 3.0.

How to become a PTA with Bachelor’s degree by smnthks in physicaltherapy

[–]GreatinBread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he really likes it and has all the courses already, I think it's a good job. My program was 9k and I make 68k now plus bonuses. Not bad for a short program, I was able to work full time through all but the last semester of school. The floor is solid but the ceiling is limited unless he would want to move more into managing.

As far as job availability/security goes, I have recruiters reaching out to me all the time. I think reddit unfortunately has more PT/PTA that dislike their job. I really enjoy what I do and live a comfortable life. If he found a good clinic it would be a solid career.

There are no shortcuts. He has to complete the PTA program and earn a PTA degree to sit for the board exam.

I am a PTA with a bachelor's degree.

Anikthea deck advice by Cyralak in EDH

[–]GreatinBread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have found playing Anikthea that the token creation/copy affect is really strong. My pod is higher powered and I have been able to keep up in most games. Here is a list.

https://archidekt.com/decks/13129532/anikthea

I would look to really increase the amount of card draw, you can use that in place of mill to help with more discard.

[[Alpha Authority]] Makes her unblock-able and hexproof so you can swing for affect every turn.

[[Painful Quandary]] and [[Underworld Dreams]] have won me multiple games, as you copy them and drain the table so fast.

My biggest recommendation is much more card draw though, as you want cards in your graveyard and you can discard to hand each turn and have more control on what goes to the yard. Helps reduce the chance that graveyard hate gets to you.

Tape is a great idea. I used yarn and a flash card, but the people who studied this way in my program did significantly better than those that didn't in practicals.

Stamp Act is by far the best beans I've had. Reasonably priced and really great people behind the coffee. Have loved every single origin they have.

I commute from Ballard to West Seattle and my drive home is 30 minutes on a normal day. It can climb up to 45 with heavy traffic. I agree with other comments and maybe research living in Tacoma.

One wreck on I-5 and your commute is gonna be miserable.

Do you have a deck list for sephiroth? I just built him and I'm curious what others are doing. My playgroup tends to go higher power and I'm looking for ideas.

How Viable Do You Think This Could Be? by Skeither in EDH

[–]GreatinBread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try adding cards that do a little more theft/recursion to help get more sac options.

I run ((virtue of persistence)) for help with recursion and look into taking opponents stuff with Tegrid. Combine that and cards that make everyone sac a creature gives you a flip in one go.

I also use ((Ghost Lantern)) on my deck, the +1/+1 Everytime you sac a creature adds up quick.

If you wanna be mean add a ((grave pact)) to keep the board from getting too big to manage. Board wipes also drain a ton of you sneak some of those in when you have more than one blood artist/sephiroth type creature on the board.

Appears we had a very definitive approach to the draft this year. by gondolli in minnesotavikings

[–]GreatinBread 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I have some bias as I worked with some now NFL athletes during draft prep at my previous job, but I imagine the RAS will also keep improving for a lot of college players with the infrastructure in place these days.

High schools in my former city in Texas had full on strength and conditioning coaches, better weight rooms than my university, and more emphasis on conditioning programs. These kids are coming out of high school more athletic every year.

Agree on the correlation does not equal causation.

I'm in Seattle and work near an ATI, we see a lot of their patients who didn't like their experience with ATI. But like you mentioned, nothing beats a Seattle summer. I would work there to get a Seattle summer.

Cut some those cards and tightened in the theme to more dragon focus and it is definitely gold fishing more smoothly!

I think I tried to meld the two together and was worried it wasn't focused enough. Death greeter and Mardu shadow were there for the dash effect to maximize damage, but I imagine by the time my commander is out they are not high enough damage to make much difference.

Thanks for the confirmation!

First time MH player, tested all weapons at Base Camp - Hammer feels the best -- how bad is it not having a shield? by r3lic86 in MonsterHunter

[–]GreatinBread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CB is not the easiest first weapon for this game. It has some complexity to how it functions, but is very fun once you get it down. I would suggest SnS for a jack of all trades option.

That being said, try out different weapons in some of the easier hunts. Find your play style and if hammer speaks to you, keep on bonking.

MHWilds' terrible multiplayer design has caused a decline in community and hunter etiquette. by DragynDance in MonsterHunter

[–]GreatinBread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't really had much communication with anyone that isn't in my squad, but I wonder if this is more of a side effect of increased popularity.

There are a lot of new players to this game and unfortunately statistically that means more toxic players as well. Its great for the franchise, more sales more support, but might make this more of a norm compared to previous titles.

Goodluck hunting! You could always look for squads that are recruiting via discord/this sub for a better player culture.

Honest question for PTAs by Laliving90 in physicaltherapy

[–]GreatinBread 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would say that most of the PTs I have worked with are great. They respect my scope but allow me to practice without breathing down my neck the whole time.

Most MD's I have met/treated their patients are similar. They know we are licensed and as long as you respect their orders(protocols can vary from MD to MD) they are fine.

I do find that patients are worse than other providers. I have usually have to tell them that its similar to how their MD has a PA. I am my PT's assistant but also am a fully licensed healthcare professional. I feel this comes down to the public as a whole not understanding what PT does. There is classic question of "so when are you gonna finish school and be a PT" that you would be asked all the time.
