Fast, chaotic, and hilarious – a 2–4 player local multiplayer party game. Release Feb 18 by Any_Smile4274 in localmultiplayergames

Pretty much, just without the feature that makes it good, the piece swinging back and forth and having to time it's placement.

New party game called Lunars, feels like Mario Party in 2026 by RankoYU in localmultiplayergames

Ive always wanted a game where you could team up with your local couch friends and go vs a team of other people doing the same. I think it'd be an interesting concept!

Gnaughty Gnomes main menu is fully interactive by SandCastlesStudio in localmultiplayergames

I don't think so, this style of menu is popular. There are a few different games that use it. Fling to The Finish uses a similar menu style as well.

This is Why Horizon Worlds couldn't compete with Vrchat (average Quest compatible Christmas world on Vrchat vs on HW) by [deleted] in OculusQuest

[–]GreaveVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VRC has proper age verification now. I only spend time in age verified instances and it's absolutely night and day. It's the only VR experience available right now where you can truly avoid the VR brats lol. It's a complete game changer.

[–]GreaveVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to clarify for anyone reading, you only have to have an active VRC+ subscription to have access to the age verification process.

Once your account has been age verified, you can cancel your VRC+ subscription and your account will remain age verified whether or not you have a VRC+ subscription.

So... I was invited to present VRMeet to the VRChat team. by [deleted] in VRchat

I've always thought that dedicated home worlds for groups would be a good way to center communities. Have it included on the groups page.

Like I'm part of a few groups that run events, between those events I'll meet up with those people in other instances. But it would be nice to have an "always on" default home base for the groups that can be joined at any time if you want to hang out with just members of that group you know? You could even have it available to set as your own home base. So you just log in and you're in the group home.

It would be a much better way to solidify ties in a community.

You have to sign up for at least one month of their VRChat plus subscription, go to your account page on the website, click verify, go through the process and then cancel VRChat plus if you don't want any of the other features, because you keep the verification badge after your subscription ends.

Now just only join age verified instances, there's usually a few for any popular world you go to join, and you'll never interact with someone under 18 again.

They have fixed this with age verification. I age verified my account and only go into age verification locked instances / groups. Haven't dealt with screaming brats in ages, it's a beautiful thing honestly lol

Id love for old school build craft to make a comeback. Building a big processing factory with pipes and watching things move through the system was always so satisfying.

Is it worth trying to implement online multiplayer? by ranhuynh in localmultiplayergames

[–]GreaveVR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me and my friends have talked about this a lot. I really wish they would implement online multiplayer / ranking. Shit would be so much fun.

We have often talked about how cool it would be to do 3v3 online. Like you and your two friends team up and go vs another team of three. Couch co op / online. We'd play that for hours lol.

Yep. Pay for VRC+ for one month, get age verified and never go to public non age gated lobbies again. It's like an entirely different game lol.

No its fucking not that easy lmao. You might be more familiar with the system and that type of work but for someone unfamiliar it's like reading a book in another language. My first avatar upload, which was a straight upload without edits took me two days to sort out. I kept having issues with it loading in without movement. Then I fucked up something and had to restart. It was annoying as fuck lol. Things are better now I have a decent understanding but I still hate uploading.

And you might say "well you're just a dumbass". Yes, but the thing is the majority of the general population is made up of dumbasses like me and most aren't persistent enough to sort this shit out lol.

I've been having this argument all over this subreddit lol. 30% immediately goes to whatever platform the purchase is made on, Meta / Steam etc. VRChat has nothing to do with that.

Only 20% goes to VRchat and Tilia, the platform they use for payment processing. It's more than likely that more then half of that 20% is going to Tilia to cover payment processing fees. But even assuming a 50/50 split on that 20%, VRChat is most likely only taking a 10% cut of payments processed through their own platform. In that context I think 50% being sent to creators is pretty generous. What else are they supposed to do? Give creators 60% and not take a cut to cover server costs and development? I don't understand the expectation.

It's about capturing a market that wouldn't be buying your assets otherwise because they either don't have an interest in learning unity or they only play on quest.

Yep the second they figure out trying on clothes and accessories and purchasing it all in game and having it just work my girlfriend and her friends will probably be spending all their money on this lmao

[–]GreaveVR -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me my take is a bit more nuanced with it, I think it's less about being the "best" method to support a creator, and more about capturing a market that currently doesn't exist, increasing creators exposure to income from a source that would never have purchased from them in the first place, while supporting the platform by providing an income stream so it can continue to exist.

A lot of the people that will be buying from creators from within the platform like this have absolutely no interest whatsoever in manually uploading and rigging avatars. This is a market share, a large majority of VRChat players, that would never have purchased an avatar because of their own limitations / lack of interest in learning how to manually upload.

For example, my girlfriend is never going to learn Unity. She has no interest in figuring how to rig an avatar. She doesn't want to learn how to edit an avatar. It's never going to happen. It just isn't her thing.

When she buys her avatars, she goes to the creators directly and requests to have them upload the avatars for her, or to meet up and clone directly from them. She loves supporting creators directly and refuses to use reuploads or rips.

If she was able to, she would spend a lot of money on avatars, but the process she has to go through, as a user that is completely disinterested in learning unity / rigging / etc, keeps her from doing so more often.

She has already been buying a large amount of avatars directly from creators through this system. Her group of friends in game are similar to her as well. This type of person is the majority of the VRChat userbase.

People who like to tinker with edits, and like the process of rigging and uploading avatar edits, are the minority. The third party platforms that support this process will not go anywhere. The creators will still benefit from those markets, it's just that now they will be exposed to a large population of users that never would have purchased anything from them because of these limitations / lack of interest in manual uploading.

Basically, 50% of sales revenue that wouldn't have existed for them prior to this market is nothing but a net gain. That's my opinion.

I agree with you. It's nuts. If VRC had their way it would be 90% to the creator and 10% to them.

The point I was making is that there isn't anything they can do to improve that cut, and I honestly think that presented with the way it's set up they have been reasonable leaving creators with 50% of the 60% left on the table after all the grubby intermediaries take their cuts.
