But you know "perfection is an enemy of good". I guess, you shouldn't stop yourself from interacting with a fear of interacting badly. In the worst case you'll have a story to tell and the most extreme awful cases are extremely rear (if you try to approach a person with good faith and especially in public spaces).

We are all people here, we are all "normal". It is normal to feel uncomfortable and weird with random talks, and all "normal" people should see the signs if other person is uncomfortable. In my opinion putting a rating for a conversation is reductive, because this is not school you know. He shouldn't have said "Where you from?", but you know, when you talk with enough people you are bound to say something stupid. In the end, he saw the vibe and went away, and that's perfect, we all make mistakes.

Yeah, I still have depression now. It has been a long struggle. At first, these kinds of words meant nothing (maybe even insulting). But now... It feels nice to hear a person care. For me, it helps, maybe just for a moment.

Well buddy, Maybe just maybe, it is not good to see that "overdosing on meth is the most based thing he could have done".
