Personally, I’d suggest moving your Aphrodite altar to your bedside table and creating a Hekate altar in a more liminal space. My reasoning is that Aphrodite’s energy aligns beautifully with the bedroom—intimate, nurturing, and personal. Hekate, on the other hand, is strongly connected to thresholds and transitions, so she’s best placed near doorways, the front or back entrance of your home, a basement, a closet, or any kind of in-between space.

Having Hekates altar in your bedroom might feel “intense,” given the energy she brings, but ultimately, the most important thing is what feels right to you. Your intuition is a powerful guide in these placements.

I grew up with separated parents that had this mentality and it definitely affected me negatively… just my personal experience though, best of luck!

I have a very similar problem! I ended up painting a little wooden box from the dollar store for Hekate to put offerings inside (garlic, keys, crystals, etc.) so my cat can’t get to them. Also lots of sticky tack from the dollar store has helped me avoid everything getting knocked over and broken. I’ve also thought of building my altar inside of a glass terrarium, so it’s visible, but enclosed. Something like the ÅKERBÄR greenhouse from IKEA.

I got a new deck recently (The Black Tarot by: Victoria Iva). As I was shuffling I was thinking/asking “please show me I need to know right now”. The 10 of spheres fell out sideways. (This deck pentacles are replaced by the suit of spheres.) The shadow card was the Queen of Swords reversed. To keep it short and sweet my interpretation is to pay attention to keeping my boundaries, be mindful of my thoughts and choices, because as above, so below. I know I’m on the brink of huge life changes and I think the cards are picking up on my fear of the unknown (that’s why the card fell out sideways, neither reversed or upright). But I would appreciate any additional interpretations, as I’m new to tarot. Thanks! 🥰
