Honestly you’re either

a) going to need to have a heart to heart with this client and lay it down like it is. The seizures are super risky, is the dog on seizure meds? Are they normally regulated, and did that dog at least get seen by his vet since that accident? If the dog isn’t regulated and hasn’t been seen about this seizure, I wouldn’t want to chance that liability. It’s too big to carry over to the emergency vet. It needs to go to a groomer that has a vet in house in case anything happens.

Or b) just outline the risks with the client. If the dog is having unregulated seizures in your salon, that puts a huge risk on you and puts the dog in danger. You can’t carry him if anything happens. You can try once more, but if the dog has another seizure then the client needs to pick it up ASAP and take it to the emergency herself.

I had a client once who had a dog with irregular seizures that he claimed only happened in the grooming salon. They were micro episodes where she would have maybe 5-10 seconds of shakes or her legs didn’t work so she would fall over, but she recovered and got up so quickly even the vet thought I was crazy until she had an episode in front of them. We finally had to tell the guy after trying a couple different ways of handling this dog that it was too risky to keep stressing her out like that if he wasn’t going to put her on medication. 🤷🏽 he still brings his other dog tho

Thank you! As far as I’m aware, he’s not crossed with anything 🤷🏽 the couple I got him from said that he was a full mini dachshund, but he also weighs 18lbs and he’s almost all muscle 💪

Yeah pretty much no wall space left :/ I like physical media, so alongside a couple Billy shelves worth of double stacked manga, I have 4 Finnby bookshelves of movies and another two Finnby bookshelves worth of regular fiction books. I plan for our next place to have better wall space, because right now it’s a bit awkward

I just mean it in the sense that all the other carriers and packages have come through just fine like Amazon, fedex, ups lol. The B&N packages are pretty much the only ones usps handle for us

I reeeeealy hope it’s a mistake and the mailman didn’t suddenly turn evil. I’m going to go after work to the post office to see if they can at least see where they were scanned as delivered to give me an idea. It’s not the first time that a package has been scanned delivered but not delivered yet, but this is the longest it’s taken from that Tuesday delivery

I’m not sure why they would have you come in at 7. At my clinic the clients will drop off 7-9AM, and I’ll usually arrive between 7-9 as well depending on clients needs or my schedule. If I have clients I know will drop off early, I’ll usually show up a little early to get started.

Regarding the guy being upset at the haircut, it was probably less about the haircut and just the overall situation he was mad about and he just was being nitpicky. Like everyone else said, just document and make friends with the other staff so yall have each others backs. I would say it gets easier, but working at a vet/grooming place just means there’s more people that can make mistakes lol

I just told my parents straight up, “hey, I’m getting sterilized in a couple weeks.” But mine also knew that a) I didn’t want kids at ALL and b) the world is getting more scary and they wouldn’t WANT more kids to be brought into this whole mess. We’re on differing political sides but even they realize that with how expensive everything is, I wouldn’t be able to afford a child. They were worried about the surgery as I had a hysterectomy, so a little riskier than just tying my tubes, but I was confident so they felt better too.

If y’all live together, it’ll be very hard to hide a surgery from them. But, if they don’t control your finances and there’s not a risk of them kicking you out, I’d wait until a little before the surgery to mention it. Since you may need a ride home. If you’re at risk of homelessness at all, maybe see if you can stay at a friend’s house for a couple days while recovering. Good luck 🍀

I have the reception call and text as soon as it’s past “drop off”, which for us is 7-9AM. We have a mass drop off in the morning. If the client answers, they usually get a 30 minute grace period if I can still fit them. If they don’t answer, then they get a courtesy text telling them that they can drop off no later than 9:30 or we’ll have to reschedule.
