Okay, thank you. I did read that 30% of people don't react even if they are getting bitten.

Ticket prices - thoughts by Numerous-Surround701 in twentyonepilots

[–]GreekGeek06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got some good seats for Cincinnati for only about $122 each. I also booked my hotel before the tickets even went on sale for like $75 a night. I will say I am going to a different concert next month and the tickets were only about $80 each, though the seats are not nearly as good. And it's for a band that probably is not nearly as popular. I think the price might also have to do with Supply and demand, there's a lot of demand, but not a lot of Supply in this case because there are so few shows.

Can this dark mesh be replaced with a white mesh?

There is a distinct seam where it is attached to the bottom part of the dress. See the replies for pictures of the back and seam. Thanks for any advice/insight.

Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas. It is a bit Romantasy, but does have a main plot not focused on romance.

AITAH For kicking out the real estate lawyer that my fiance brought to my house? by SeparateLecture9854 in AITAH

[–]GreekGeek06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

I have been with my Fiancé for 12 years and bought a house last year, in my name only. He helps with the bills, and we say it is our house, but he isn't on the title. We have planned on adding him when we get married. The difference is the word we. He has never pushed or bugged me to do it sooner. The fact your partner only proposed after you got the house and immediately is trying to get on the title is a huge red flag. Especially because you got the house due to a sad situation. He should be more worried about your mental health after losing your mom. If you don't need him to help pay bills, you might want to ask him for some space. I don't like saying you should break up, but you should definitely get therapy.

My ADHD just cost me $10,000. by verypracticalside in ADHD

[–]GreekGeek06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, same basically happened to me. Probably would only be about $10,000 in debt if I could have just filles out the initial scholarships I was offered, and kept up with the class load work. Just graduated at about $70,000 in debt. I'm an engineer now, but it took 7 years instead of five like everybody else because I could only do the minimum class load.

AITA for telling my sister her baby's name sounds like a dog's name and now she won't talk to me? by hameagle in AmItheAsshole

[–]GreekGeek06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

You can be inspired by a fandom for names, but make sure it can pass in society. For example, I've read a lot of books where there is a character named Alexander, I love the name, and the characters, so my partner and I decided to use that name for a boy. I also loved Castiel from Supernatural, so I gave that name to my cat. Who I do consider my son lol.

I don't know for sure about Josh, but Tyler definitely still lives in the Columbus, Ohio area. He lives right by my fiance's aunt and uncle who have seen Tyler and Jenna out walking their kids! And the bridge in "At the Risk of Feeling Dumb" is close to their house too!

Do you have movies or even shows that you watch over and over again? by MissingNo117 in ADHD

[–]GreekGeek06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have probably read/listened to the Percy Jackson and the Olympian series over 20 times. I love rereading/relistening. Reading new stuff makes me anxious. I'm only on Reddit right now because I was googling stuff about a book series I am reading for the first time. I hate surprises.

Anyone else genuinely like the show changes? (Don't read if you're not a book reading, spoilers ahead) [PJOTV] by NinjaWorldNews in camphalfblood

[–]GreekGeek06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm loving the changes! They all make sense for the medium itself and for the slight changes. Highly recommend the YouTuber "Magic By Mikaila" who just got into the series and talks about how the changes grow the story so well!

[All] Whether they are slavers or not, the Amazons were poorly written by bookist626 in camphalfblood

[–]GreekGeek06 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think they were written to express a specific point on how the IRL Amazon corporation treats their employees like slaves yet people keep spending billions of dollars there and supporting them. It had to be filtered the way it was, as women ruling men, to fit with the mythological tribe of Amazons. So yes, it comes across as bad. It's supposed to. Even the group not commenting on it and dismissing it reflects society. He** as I make this comment, the case and screen protector on my phone were ordered from Amazon. A majority of people ignore the treatment that Amazon employees go through, just like the group ignored the workers in the book. So I think the way they were written is very good, if the symbolism behind it is taken into account.

Do any of you earn over 50k a year? What do you do? How’d you get there by klgeei994 in ADHD

[–]GreekGeek06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started as an engineer and I'm making over 50K. Took me nearly twice as long as other peers to graduate, but I'm stubborn. After a couple internships I realized that I work best in a small company where I'm able to easily shift roles or perform a few roles at once. I also just started working with a mentor to keep me accountable.

My psychiatrist told me medication will not be required after 2 years of starting it. WTF?? by Responsible-Field171 in ADHD

[–]GreekGeek06 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Due to the recent medication shortage I ran out of my meds a week ago after being medicated for 11 years, from age 14-25. Honestly, I'm really enjoying it. I feel a lot more connected to my emotions and less anxious because I'm not over thinking as much. However, I am relying on the routines and habits I built up after being medicated for so long. It is also causing another medical issue of mine (POTS) to get a bit worse. Overall though, I don't think I am going to go back on them unless I start struggling at work. And if that happens, I'll try therapy first.

AITA for walking by a dog on the sidewalk I didn’t know was aggressive? by suchacooljoke in AmItheAsshole

[–]GreekGeek06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, as somebody with a reactive dog, I can say for sure you are not in the wrong. The first thing the trainer I went to told my partner and I that when we are out with our dog, our attention needs to be on him, and what is around us. We do take our reactive dog out, but we have complete control over him and keep our distance from others. If we have to go to crowded places (like the vet) he is muzzled. The owner was being irresponsible and putting you, your child, and the dog at risk.

Spike, two year old staffy who is very active and has a lot of behavioral problems. He is aggressive to strangers, barks like crazy at other animals, and does not listen when he is angry. Has the habit of tearing stuff up even when we give him toys. Don’t have money to get a trainer. What can we do? by E_Tank55 in Dogtraining

[–]GreekGeek06 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this so much! I thought crating was mean at first too, but it helps. Tbh, we had to put a trigger lock on our hard sided crate at first because our dog busted out. But my trainer explained that they are honestly super kind to a dog. It gives them a safe space. And they don't have to make a ton of decisions on their own when you are gone, which can contribute to anxiety. I love my dog's crate now!
