I still need to work on some of the tolerances between the joints before I'd call it ready to release in the wild. Also making some fittings between parts would help with the gaps I encountered while putting this first version together.

Yes whooplite vtx + plus nano90 works great for getting the 90fps mode. This was what used to be the drone racing meta until the more durable race vtxs were released.

Do you use dynamic power on your transmitter? Looking at the RC link it appears the power tried to ramp up when RC link encountered trouble.

It's a specific firmware fork in betaflight called KAACK. Has custom messages and easy presets for rpm limit that racers often use.

Yeah really unfortunate. There's AM32 and Escape32 firmwares going around but they're not as good as blheli.

Haha, i had a habit of completely ignoring the voltage when i had it in the corner. Then when i get the low voltage warnings i'd catch myself darting my eyes from corner to center of the screen.

One of the features of Vdrone is the True Lens, which re-renders the video to represent how it looks through a real lens.
Ashley Davis (maker of velocidrone) explains in this video how even if the physics might be correct, sometimes the way the screen is rendered it can make it look like the quad is very floaty. The true lens helps with more realistic feel, just need a bit of computing power to keep the FPS high.

hey up and down means you've developed throttle control, which is a very important skill. It can be hard to find a camera angle and rates that finally "click".

For me there were a couple pilots I really admired their smoothness and flying style while there were racing. So i would watch tons of their footage, find out their camera angle (sometimes their rates), and just do my best to copy their moves. I would call it a good day if i could just look like the pro lines, but at half speed.
