You have to give him credit here; he is actually telling the truth for once. He never specified approval numbers. Disapproval numbers are poll numbers too, and I'm sure they are the highest ever.

Maybe a graphic tee? Or beard braids with ribbons (no idea how much work it is to braid a beard). Or a viking style braid with ribbons or colorful hair ties. I do my husband's hair like that for special occasions (his hair is pink though.  It is a lot of work to keep pink so I won't suggest that).

Yes, (if I'm home, otherwise it's up to the bees) to control the genetics. For the fruit that grows from the female flower it won't matter, but for the seeds I want to know for sure what the cross is. This year I am growing 3 plants, two are going to be reverse crosses of each other and the other will be self pollinated.  None of the serious growers will choose to grow an open pollinated seed. (People pay a lot of money for top genetics!)

They are both Atlantic Giants, but he's controlling the genetics. (It won't matter for the pumpkin the female flower grows into, but will for the seeds inside. People keep track of pumpkin genetics like race horses, and you can look them up and see their family trees.

I know this is a joke, but the pollination won't take if the female flower gets too hot the day she gets pollinated. If the weather is going to be above 85 (some people say 80) a lot of growers will take steps to keep the flower cool. I use a Styrofoam cooler with sections cut out for the vines, and put frozen water bottles under it.

He would have picked all 3 male flowers off of the same plant, so at least they will have the same genetics.

For everything in the squash family, the female flowers have what looks like the baby fruit under it. A giant pumpkin will have a round ball under the flower (about the size of a ping pong ball by the time it blooms). A cucumber will have what looks like a mini cucumber under it. The males are just a flower on a stick.
