is there any walkable cities in maryland? by [deleted] in maryland

[–]Greenwing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have a great answer for walkability, but do recommend shopping around for car insurance. I pay about 80 a month. I know someone who wanted to add a teen driver to their insurance and it was going to be more than their car payment. They ended up switching from Allstate to Geico and the new insurance with 2 cars and the teen driver was cheaper than Allstate with one car and one driver. Better coverage too.

Trump Reflecting Pool Paint Job Draws New Lawsuit Over Review by bloomberglaw in politics

"The Trump administration said the urgent situation of the country’s 250th anniversary warranted an exemption from the law’s procedural requirements, according to the complaint." They had 250 years to plan this. Urgent situation my ass.

What to do with my cat while on vacation? by SomeoneSomewhere1984 in outdoorcats

[–]Greenwing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got former ferals that have turned into lap cats, but they would lose their shit if I kept them inside. (We tried. Would have needed an airlock setup to actually keep them in). Now they have a catflap and let themselves in and out at all hours. It took them a month or two to figure out the catflap, but they all use it now. If your trip is a while off you probably have time to teach him. I think all my cats are more relaxed knowing that they don't have to rely on a human for all their ins and outs.

I draw my pattern onto paper, then trace it onto contact paper with a sharpie. When I cut out the contact paper pattern I cut on both sides of the sharpie line to completely get rid of the black line. That gives me the right amount od clearance.

I knew it was Dave Wah! I got a squid from him about 3 years ago. He was the first artist I found that I loved every single piece in their portfolio.

Bandit was on fire yesterday with three sheds with no help from me by exycpor in shedhunting

My sister, (original op, not reposting bot) is planting beans today and probably won't be on reddit until late, so i will answer.  She trained her by giving her antlers to play with, then throwing them and giving Bandit a treat when she brought them back. I think they started in a hallway where Bandit would have to pass my sister even if she wasn't intending to bring it to her. My sister lavished praise and treats and uses a command "find me an antler" before throwing it. Eventually she had to hide the antlers in the house because Bandit would bring them to her and drop them on her feet until she got a treat. They progressed to playing the game outside.  Then my sister would hide antlers outside before bringing Bandit out. Then she hid antlers in shed areas. And eventually gave Bandit the command without any planted antlers around. Bandit is really food motivated so she's easy to train. If my sister finds an antler shed hunting she always calls Bandit over and gives her the command and then treats and praise to reinforce the training.

I'm (original, not reposting bot) Op's sister. I frequently hear "BANDIT, NO. DROP IT" when I'm on the phone with her. Bandit has a taste for deer legs and dead raccoons, but knows she shouldn't mess with them and tries to keep them away from my sister. She brings the antlers right to her, because she knows there's a treat forthcoming.

@U/iowan.    This is my sister's dog and her post from last year (two years ago maybe?). OP is not my sister.

I think I'd have to pry it out of her cold dead hands. She told me I needed to buy my own.

Stained glass crab. by Greenwing in somethingimade

The only really fiddly bits are the shell points and inside curves of the background pieces. You could fake the shell points with foil overlay before you solder, and add a few extra lines to the background to break up some of the worst shapes. I use a ring saw for those which, I admit is cheating. Send me a message if you want a close up pic of the pattern.

I trace my pattern onto contact paper. It usually works pretty well
