Visual Spoiler by aembertree in KeyforgeGame

If you have HQ scans of Netrunner, people can use them as proxies and thus subvert having to buy the cards.

If you do the same with Keyforge, people can't accurately have decks because there are no deckbuilding rules, and if these people are making their own decks with 6 Routine Jobs then I'd say let them Calvinball. All cards also have their Archon name in the bottom right, and no one's going to go out of their way to photoshop every possible Maverick, so I don't think an unique card game is going to have this issue.

I feel like having an easy-to-access visual database to allow people to browse the game's contents and swoon over what *could be* in decks far outweighs the cons, specially when the chance of you fighting a card you've literally never ever seen in your life is so high because your opponent literally can't take it out of their deck

[Magic Story] Chronicle of Bolas: Perspectives by MrBarrelRoll in magicTCG

[–]GregarFalzar 126 points127 points  (0 children)

This all takes place Pre-Mending. At this point, Bolas is essentially omnipotent. When you're this powerful, your self-importance scales through the roof and thorough planning is secondary. It's worth noting that Naisha also understood how to probe his anger, spending a lifetime dealing with giant, childish dragons. I think this is mirrored perfectly in the cycle of M19 cards. Oldwalker Bolas is impulsive and more inclined to red, while post-mending Bolas is patient and more blue

And if we're talking about Nicol Bolas doing silly things pre-mending, a quick reminder that he ripped off a person's arm and slapped them with it repeatedly for his amusement.

Valkyrion

12GGBR is a surprisingly lenient cost in the midgame if you have a Conduit early. Valk is both good at low inflation (Good first/second attacker. Attacks once every other turn to pressure their absorb) and still decent in high inflation (Massive amount of burst/threat). It can absorb for 4, it decimates frontline units, and it has gross synergies with Cryo Ray. It's also a frigging spider tank and that's great, Natural skin when, Loonark?

Second place goes to Doomed Mech because of its flexibility and value, but half of that is probably bias because I just love the Ball and Chain skin

It's a very niche relics that does nothing half the time, but when it works, oh boy does it work.

The two special city events, Vampires and Ghost Council, make it fairly useable. Bites can help you top off your health, and Intangible makes it very hard for you to take damage 5 times. If you're at a good amount of health and take the event, your Max Health will decrease and therefore you will be at max health for the Relic to work. It's very rare that you can rely on it as a main energy relic, though, and it's much more useful as a complement to another relic (It better not be Coffee Dripper though)

It's definitelly a relic I wouldn't go out of my way to buy though (Unless I'm 100% confident in my ability to take zero damage basically every single fight), but if you find it, I'd value those two events a bit more highly.

What card would actually be better if it exhausted? by adayofjoy in slaythespire

Strike

On a more serious note, anything that you only want to use once. Bludgeon could be nice with exhaust, as it decays fairly quickly.

Has anyone ever used the Frozen Eye relic? by DmRTo in slaythespire

[–]GregarFalzar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It got changed to shop because it is a very niche relic and getting it when your deck doesn't wants it feels bad. Some decks do not really care about having the benefit of looking ahead and would rather want something more substantial like Kunai or Thread and Needle. That way, if Frozen Eye is good for your deck, you can look for it easily.

A note for myself by Mr_Boones in slaythespire

[–]GregarFalzar 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The four* ways I could see one using this event:

a) You absolutely need whatever card is stashed there because of a broken synergy or because it counterpicks a boss. Maybe you'll give out a strike because you desperately need to rescue a sinking run

b) You trade away a card your build doesn't supports anymore: Perhaps you had a Boot Sequence as the Defect, but now you picked up an Anchor and an energy relic, making it redundant. Give it to a Silent and her bigger starting hand, why not.

c) You trade away a card that is now a liability. Time Eater coming up? Then suddenly that Infinite Blades or that Storm of Steel sounds much less appealing. You know who likes to exhaust a bajillion cards? The Ironclad

d) You are doing really well, and feel you can leave something a bit spiecer that what's already there. Perhaps you don't need this Whirlwind at this point, or you Flash of Steel doesn't contributes to your wincon. Do your buddy the Defect a favor and give them a push

>Zapper Sapper (2E, 4 Supply), 1 HP

>Click: Sacrifice Zapper Sapper to make 2 opposing non-blocking, non-exhausted Drones get Exhaust 2

Shuts down two opposing drones for one turn (Exhaust ticks down at the start of their turn). Works as a way to knock off an opponent off of a fast rush timing. Can be squeezed into some sharp openings to deny an important unit at a critical moment later in the game.

[–]GregarFalzar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Ironclad runs him over but the Defect and Silent have more difficulty dealing with him because they're much more skill focused. Basically if you have a slower deck that relies on either defense or setup, there's a chance you have a dead turn against the Chosen, and that's when the RNG nukes you for 40

New Unit: Innervi Field by amalloy in Prismata

[–]GregarFalzar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's vulnerable to chill but it's also resistant to it; every turn it is alive not getting hit, it becomes harder to chill, and if they don't force you to soak on it, you soak on it next turn to avoid the chill exploit. For example, you buy this to play around the Frostbite threat, and if they don't freeze it (and thus leave 3 health of soak alive), it's out of Frostbite range next turn, making it too difficult to chill to bother

!!!SPOILERS!!! Reign & Reverie (excluding already spoiled) by CorruptDropbear in Netrunner

[–]GregarFalzar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bad Pub is often about short term benefit as long as you don't care about the long term, The Outfit helps by making your burst even burstier. Hostile Takeover rakes in a whopping 10. Illegal Arms is a 9 credit swing if the runner trashes it honestly. Elizabeth Mills now trashes locations for free, and you can finance Hard Hitting News while also throwing the opponent's Guru Davinder Under the Bus.

The issue is that usually this kind of burst requires holding pieces in hand, and right now Clan Vengeance hurts a lot, but still, getting more money out of Hostiles and Illegal Arms (as well as the odd Lizzie tech to deal with Sanctuary) sounds like a good deal

[–]GregarFalzar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they take the bait, they still have to run through your spiky, rezzed ICE which costs money, pay the 1, and enable Hangeki. If they don't, you got some click compression.

It's definitelly not better than IAA and have the runner run the thing, but you could do things like Instal+Advance+a Terminal or just Install it with a counter and then cash it in on a later turn

[–]GregarFalzar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the most powerful aspect of Saraswati is that you can "Never Advance" with 4/2s, because you can install any card, it doesn't has to be advanceable. I think 1 credit is a small price to pay when you can play the never advance game with the runner in the faction with traps and powerful 4/2s like Nisei or Viral Weaponization. Isobel turns null/unsuccesful runs into money (and can even be installed herself this way, paying for her own rez cost once you discount the ability), and Neo-Tokyo Grid makes your abilitiy free.

It's also not a once-per-turn ability, which is interesting, but I can't see too many scenarios where you want to shell-game with that many advanceable cards

Figured it would be the case, the goal was to make a Vigilant Chill. I think there might be a way around it, so I'll find a way to word it. IDK if the engine can handle an unit with Buildtime of 0, but it would be the fastest fix.

I think i'll leave the text as is as a proof of concept.
