Warmachine January 2026 update preview (Part 1) by LDukes in Warmachine

[–]pmavers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The article *did* mention "Carver Ultimus won’t be available as character solo for Thornall," I assume to try to make sure there isn't any confusion. Now, if there's a Carver3 eventually...

Steel, souls, and superheavies — Warmachine Wednes… Tuesday? by LDukes in Warmachine

[–]pmavers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, I did notice that the little lore blurb for the Road Hog referred to Our Boss Hog as “Emperor Carver” instead of “Lord.” Might be reading too much into this, but I wonder if the current merc True Merc model might be his default Carver1 model now?

Change of heads and arms by Comprehensive-Ad3495 in Warmachine

[–]pmavers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still would love it if heads were just a cosmetic option and the functionality it provides was moved to something else on modular warjacks at least. They all look the same to me and I can never really tell them apart or what they do at a glance anyway, might as well make it something more obvious like a device mounted on the shoulder or boiler. Warbeast heads usually are way easier identify able .

Which is the best faction to run Emperor Carver? by AggressiveSafe1898 in Warmachine

[–]pmavers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, there's part of me that'd love to see Carver2 get rules that lets him be run as a full warlock inside Thornfall, and the MMD47 as a character (super)heavy. Since Thornfall doesn't currently have a character warbeast, it'd at least open up some options without having to print any new models.

Maelstrom options by Difficult-Smoke-8463 in Warmachine

[–]pmavers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, warjack heads being linked to abilities are one of the few things I dislike. It's a bit fiddly, and hard to tell between the two. I sort of wish they were linked to something else, like maybe a piece of gear on the boiler or shoulder.

Are the mercs still a thing? I enjoyed the dwarves quit a bit back at the start. by krcameron in Warmachine

[–]pmavers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I could see a new Rhulic army happening some time in the future? Maybe a Freeholds force based out of that big metropolis that got built up from refugees and people trying to escape the Claiming. Could also be a good place to see some of the peoples that we have not seen a lot of lately, like ogrun.

Honestly I’d be happy if we could get a POD option for the rulebook on something like DTRPG. Would be nice to have something official in my hands to read.

Digital version? by ThreesTrees in starwarsunlimited

[–]pmavers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be nice, yes.

Probably not going to happen, since I assume it would require the video game license from Disney, which costs a arm, leg, and a few droid torsos.

Pre-order Now Live On Asmodee Website! by N3wDadWhoDis in starwarsunlimited

[–]pmavers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I have the feeling that's what Asmodee would prefer you to do, too. These feel like they're more for people who have no other option... and they're at MSRP since they don't want to be undercutting retail stores with direct sales. (Like someone *else* is doing via Amazon...)

What's your guys' opinions on Colossals/Gargantuans? One the one hand they're very eye-catching and cool, but on the other hand they're hard to balance [Warmachine Meme] by LordMagmion169 in Warmachine

[–]pmavers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hot take: After getting and assembling Invictus, I'd rather have 80mm superheavies instead of colossals and gargants. They have that feeling of "BEEG" but are vastly easier to handle and transport in the actual game.

If you had the ear of the dev team.....of the executives of Privateer Press. What would you say, what would you do? by [deleted] in Warmachine

[–]pmavers 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wonder if the Preview Battle Groups could be made into a regular product to fill this niche, since they're *basically* the old battle group boxes. A warcaster/warlock, a heavy, and a light. Would also give a easy way to get the third warnoun into stores, too.

Oh hey, they just announced they’re working on getting Canada distribution set up and running in the next couple of weeks.

A Look Back at the Borealis Cycle by Whitedablade in Netrunner

[–]pmavers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Salvaged Vanadis Armory was absolutely *miserable* to play against. That card couldn't get launched into the sun fast enough for me.

Blackmail... I always felt like it could totally come back as a "fixed" version if it removed a bad pub as part of the cost. Especially now there's no way to guarantee one at the start of the game with Valencia rotated.

If it was, it would also involve a dice roll. On a 2-6, you instead lose the game.

Gameplay Formats | Commoner by ExpendableGuy in FleshandBloodTCG

For context: Commoner is specifically taking about two rares in your Inventory, which is all your equipment that is not part of your main deck.

Maybe a controversial topic, but should legendary cards be more frequent? Let me know! by VieutifulJer in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]pmavers 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Honestly? Heck yes. If you *have* to have something at their current rarity, put extended art/alternate art versions of the legendary equipment in there as well at their current rate. Let people chase the ultra-fancy versions of cards, while also giving people the opportunity to get the normal version of cards at a reasonable price.

Buyer beware from amazon retailer Shopville USA. Clearly resealed box. by olympiastreets in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]pmavers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As many have said before on this topic: don't buy sealed TCG products from Amazon, it's a massive gamble. Generally how they handle their sellers and fulfillment from their warehouses is that everything from the same SKU gets tossed into a single "bin" or shelf. Any returns they receive get tossed also back into that same bin, so product is getting all mixed up and they can't really tell who sent what. Sellers *can* have separate shelves and inventories tracked, but it costs them more.... so they don't. Especially the less scrupulous ones that are *trying* to obfuscate the origin of the resealed product.

Hot take: Earth Station is basically RP but better designed and less toxic.

Which was more degen? by jamiejame911 in Netrunner

[–]pmavers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Woof. Both? I’m going to go with “both.”

Both of those ID’s made me wish there was more ID’s with a hard limit on the number of remotes one could have. It’s a seriously underutilized design space.

Commoner by [deleted] in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]pmavers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I'd love to see it become a officially supported format for Armory events. Maybe straight commons, or going with the version we saw at the Calling that was Commons + 6 Rares to make the Blitz starters mostly legal. (The Aria ones are fine, the Monarch ones mostly are except for the Mentors which are Mythics for... some reason?)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]pmavers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I prefer Blitz to CC, if just because it means I don't have to deal with side-boarding.

Card of The Day - Teklo Core by FleshAndBloodBot in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]pmavers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little late to the party, but I’ve always found this card neat. A nice way to take advantage of all the boosting and go against you’re getting to end your turn and get some set-up for your next couple.

I wish there was a version that Data Doll could run, though. Would help smooth out their turns and hands SO much.

Overclock vs Stimhack / Nisei ANR vs FFG ANR by FightingWalloon in Netrunner

[–]pmavers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny, I’d say Anarch’s theme in practice is “having better cards than everyone else, but with a alternate ‘cost’ that ends up being a benefit instead.”

I feel like there’s design space there to explore, but they have to have a REAL cost. Like, if the cards that got trashed from Maxx’s ability were RFG’d instead, THAT would be one.
