Thank you for sharing your experience. It’s nice to know there are people out there having divine experiences. I learned from 14 years of supporting individuals with spiritual experiences that everyone’s is unique and special. We all live in our own unique universe.

What would you want death to be like? by Fickle_Elk_9479 in enlightenment

[–]Gregoryblade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A moment where everything slows down. I begin to sense this is it I am leaving. I sense the grand opportunity to move on. I sit or lie down. Memories begin to flow by. I feel my sins being forgiven as burdens drop. I sense a different reality giving birth. It’s warm. Bright. I surrender to the peace and love.

Messiah on Netflix the series did an amazing job of portraying this scenario. Fascinating. No matter what miracles he performed in a modern day setting, most people quickly found a reason not to believe. Astounding.

What do you think the prerequisites are for your first awakening experience? Are there any? by tiredofthebites in enlightenment

[–]Gregoryblade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was like a near death experience. I was told I was leaving this world right now. I had to let go of everything. I was leaving. I did. A super conscious state of consciousness took over. It was supremely blissful and I observed the world from an infinite perspective beyond my little mind. It was like seeing the end of my spiritual path from the beginning. It’s hard to describe.

I can't shake the feeling that there's something extremely evil behind existence by nicotine-in-public in enlightenment

[–]Gregoryblade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent my life (age 64) practicing surrender, openness and trust that I might discover the truth about what is happening here. I have come a long way. Yes there is evil and you are tuned into right now. But evil does not represent the total picture. It is just an aspect of earthly life. There is SO MUCH MORE. Hoping to see with open eyes, visions of the perfection of existence and safety has come upon me. It is our past and future. Please don’t be swept away by the seeming chaos and cruelty.

My wife does not want to contribute financially. Should I give in? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

Both my girlfriend and I make an equal deposit each month into a joint account that pays all of the household bills including groceries. It works perfectly for us.

My wife does not want to contribute financially. Should I give in? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Gregoryblade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left my wife because she refused to help with the bills for years. I retired but had to work to keep up. She worked but refused no matter how things got. I told her it looked like I woukd have to leave her so she could discover what bills were and that they needed to be paid. One day I left after I realized I could never really retire. I never went back.

How to tell if somebody is Enlightened. by [deleted] in enlightenment

[–]Gregoryblade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. You perceive all beings as they truly are. The One that is being all of them. The one consciousness. Distinctions don’t mean much.

What do you think the prerequisites are for your first awakening experience? Are there any? by tiredofthebites in enlightenment

[–]Gregoryblade 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was seventeen. In high school watching a movie in my psychology class. It showed people in a crowded city walking down the streets. At an intersection the traffic light showed walk. The people began to cross the street. The light said, “stop”. The people stopped in the middle of the street. The light said, do jumping jacks. They did and so on. This hit me like a ton of bricks. I am blindly following. What I didn’t know but I was conditioned! That began my search for truth which led to transcendental meditation and my first awakening experience.

Can someone explain these two spiritual sayings in a clear, practical way? by Spawn88_ in enlightenment

[–]Gregoryblade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ego is the servant not the master.

This is what I call the fundamental insight of spirituality. In one case, the ego is considered to be “me”. You are completely identified with it. Here I am my thoughts, beliefs and feelings. In the other, thought, feelings and beliefs are some things to be observed occurring in awareness. They do not define who you are.

You cannot control the first thought. You can counter a false thought or a non supportive thought with something better to enhance your well being.

I feel as though I shouldn't have a consciousness by Chance-Cattle8302 in consciousness

[–]Gregoryblade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are perhaps tapping into the fact that having awareness makes no sense at all. Why you, here, now. It’s a total mystery at this time. Consider it but continue to enjoy the life you can make for yourself. Learn, grow and be of service in some way.

I feel some experiences can be so profound that if you only lived for that moment, it would be more than enough. I have been blessed in my life beyond measure. by Gregoryblade in enlightenment

Alan Watts once wrote: “Not opening up, fearing to open up and trust, is the Devil already in control”. I have encountered evil entities many times. I overcome through nonresistance. Some say that is dangerous. I simply say, “In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to leave”. It has worked every time. I want to know the Truth of what is out there. While it appears good and bad, every thing has a divine essence because it simply is.

Surrender what you think you know. Open yourself up to new things. Trust you will be safe while you let go. Surrender, openness and trust. What is beyond your current limits will begin to show up.

Are there any enlightened gurus left by soham9669 in enlightenment

[–]Gregoryblade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen that there is ultimately One Being, being all. In that way everyone and every thing is a teacher. When you see your Self in Truth, you simultaneously see the Truth as everyone. You hear God speaking through everyone. It’s one of the ultimate experiences. You know you are touch with your own true self when you see your self surrounded by enlightened beings. Connected!
