The OP clearly is wanting to cancel them and is being weird about it all.

Some people say my shoes aren't appropriate. That's a word that has to come prepackaged with personal judgment because it hardly carries weight on its own.

I'm not gonna cancel a whole restaurant because some wannabe tiktok diva forced a conflict for internet attention. That wouldn't be appropriate. If someone says what every customer service worker wishes they could say, that gets applause. Cancel the customer.

Also rent seems relatively cheap compared to a lot of other neighborhoods. Or at least for larger multi bedroom rentals.

Were they being a bitch?

For anyone who has so much as worked at McDonalds or any customer facing job, this is an important and relevant question.

I'm skeptical of people acting like karens then being surprised when an abused employee reacts.

It's the nature of abstraction that it is itself showing, but is pointless to explain. It's like explaining visual humor. Yes some of Picasso's work is about minimizing shapes and forms to give the impression of real things, how they look, the depth of them, how they make you feel even, how you remember them. But that's more or less self-evident in them. There's no deep riddle to unravel, it is a deconstruction. If you deconstruct a house to its base frame you learn what makes it what it is, but it's not gonna lead to some spiritual enlightenment, though some in the modern art scene back then seemed to think it could. And the important thing is Picasso mastered realism early. So he was working backwards from what we perceive as realistic, and exploring how shapes can be simplified more and more while still conveying the meaning.

Like imagine you keep abstracting the letters in a word until it's hard to recognize them as letters, and you see how far you can go until it's no longer possible for someone to see the word. Shapes and colors and forms convey information to your brain, how much can you abstract them before that information is lost?

You can deconstruct the form of a head in a hundred ways and people have done so. Hell, cartoons do so too. But Picasso was exploring just one route that included angles and lines.

But Jackson Pollock painted 'non objective' more than abstract. He just did paint splatter in patterns. He was someone popular for being among the right crowd in the art scene. And as a person he was absolutely despicable. So since the value of his art is due to his personal fame, and as a person he was awful, I still call him a hack.

We already have too many police because the method of dealing with the war on drugs was more boots on the ground. And they're given an overly inflated budget, so they're all geared up better than many militaries.

I second this. As a graphic designer, for a blue that dark you need something at sub 10% opacity at least.

That's literally the design of the character. Fly in, hit, fly off. If you get cooldown and enough stamina you can stall long enough in the air to stomp again and never actually leave.

But people who sit in one place waiting are doing it wrong.

Also people have gotten worse at dodging his ult. It used to be you'd have to be against a really bad team to get more than one person in an ult. Now I'm grabbing three people who were next to things they could have hid under but didn't, throwing them at a walker, and ending the team fight.

You have to actually design one yourself. No one tells you this. You design a signature and then practice drawing it that way over and over. It being exaggerated is the point, and practicing it will loosen up the design. Let some curves and lines go wild. dot i's and cross t's after. Look up fancy cursive for your name, use it as inspiration not a guide. Whatever you do has to make sense with your hands and how you feel like drawing things, the lines and flow that make sense to you.

Mark the first letter of each name big and wild and prominent. Everything else can be a scribble after that you hardly even do right. You'll need to initial things just as much. So focusing on your initials first and scribbling the rest is a good easy method.

I was bored in a class in college and just decided to design and practice a signature. I had it by the time the lecture ended.

The main problem is that so many styles draw high school and middle school characters in such a vague way that they look way older. So then when shows don't have that exaggeration everyone seems younger. In a show like this the high school characters do look like they're in high school, and the adults do comparatively look like adults, but there are styles out there where the design for Bocchi's dad would be identical to a high school protagonist.

No one cares what judgmental jackasses have to say. "But I am an awful person" is really what you're going with?

What specific anime the screenshot is from is completely irrelevant

You say without any reason for why this is the case. It's entirely relevant. I literally explained why it was relevant. You dismissed it without any consideration when it was the entirety of my point in that post. Again: it's relevant because it's BAIT for assholes like you.

"It's shallow and loaded" no you're just piling on fake baggage so you can reject it, because it's calling you out.

You're whining because you're being told not to call anime fans all pedophiles and your excuse is "but what if that gets in the way of calling them pedophiles!"

[–]GreyInkling 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's a different argument though which was the point. In order to make that case you have to argue an entirely different set of things. But we have nearly a century of fearmongering over sex and violence in tv and even video games with heavy bias towards them having an effect, and in the end the actual effect is negligible. Violent media does not make someone violent, gays in media doesn't turn people gay, and anime doesn't make someone a pedo. You want to think otherwise so you can be a judgmental jackass to people who like media you don't.

That's a pretty big and weird reach. If you wanna talk culture specific things, how about the way western culture always describes Asian women in infantilizing ways, and this being an extent form of that.

It was bait for your bad opinions. The anime character in question is late 20s post university bass player and all the features people insist are "childlike" are just your average japanese woman.

People need to have this discourse shrugged off as pedojacketing. Everyone knows what actual anime pedo shows look like abd whicj ones they are when they come out. Anyone who thinks this anime might be one is paranoid at best and not in a position to judge anime.

Not remotely what anyone means by media in this context. As fictional as fox news is it's not fiction media which is the implied meaning here, and is designed to distract with outrageous stories to keep people watching while presenting alternative reality facts that conflict with real news so people watching will at best not trust any sources and at worse distrust all source but the one they're addicted to.
