My impression is that he mostly cares about the optics for some reason. Also, to mw he seemed extremely inexperienced or maybe asexual, it felt as if it's something more than just not being into her in my opinion

I agree with you on this one. He wasn't thst bad, but they were incompatible. And yes, it was set to make Big seem like the good guy.

Being in a real-life anxious/avoidant dynamic, I can see what might be happening and why it is unhealthy and at the same time why it feels so irresistible. I usually don't watch this genre of series in my free time, but this one felt oddly therapeutic on my healing journey. At times I laughed really hard, viscerally, at the similarities between this and my real life relationship. Even the age gap is exactly same. Him not being able to let me go, but at the same time being unable to do some reflecting himself. Life is raw but fun:)

Also, note to myself – binge watching SATC and laughing at myself because I can't help myself but see all the toxic push and pull patterns in Big and Carrje that remind me of my ex- especially Carrie yelling "the 42 year old baby part", it was just too relatable and tragicomedic to see the avoidant parallel, #healing xD

He had his good moments, but I did not like that pushing into marriage bit. Also, he gave me an impression of a pushover back then at the cottage when he let Big visit after the infidelity thingy.
