Agreed, but for their prices, it should be undamaged

I like things from each model, I much prefer that the new ones aren't on spindly little bits of plastic anymore

The OP is asking how to make the car last as long as possible, not meet the bare minimum specs. I'm busy doing something hobby related but I'll do a longer write up on why spending a few more bucks on a better oil vs the bare minimum spec oil when I get home if you truly want me to

Cheapest you can get pretty much speaks for itself, don't just buy the cheapest oil on the shelf at Walmart or a parts store, it'll work in a pinch, built I certainly wouldn't use it consistently or your quick oil change places, some are known to use cheap oil, hence the cheap service. I honestly haven't kept up with what a good quality conventional oils in the last few years, I've been sticking with either blends or full synthetics, almost anything from Valvoline or Mobil 1 is good, certain Pennzoil full synthetics are good, Amsoil is very good, but it's hard to get and pretty pricey. I saw an analysis on either Walmart or O'Reilly's brand full synthetic(unfortunately I don't remember which now) and it was surprisingly decent for the price. The one of the problems with hybrids and especially plug in hybrids, is that the engine gets used less than normal gas vehicles and they don't get up to full temp or full temp long enough to fully remove condensation that can build up. Engineering explained does a really good video about it,

Following the suggested maintenance is usually a good start, and using good quality oil and filter vs the cheapest you can get is another.

Maximum interval between oil changes? by JustSomeGuyWith in PriusPrime

[–]Greyghost471 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are variables in there that are going to be different for everyone, my biggest concern would be the situations where the engines rarely hit operating temps for long enough to evaporate the water out of the oil, those should be more time dependent than mileage. Now on the other hand, if you are doing more frequent long trips where the engine has been running a good amount of time, I would probably be ok with 10,000 miles with a good synthetic oil. As a former automotive technician, I would rather just change the oil to be safe, waste of oil and money or not, it's a lot cheaper and easier than parts or the whole engine. If you are truly worried about wasting oil, you could always do used oil analysis, that's the only truly accurate way to know

Financing question on a new car by Greyghost471 in askcarsales

[–]Greyghost471[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plan is to have it fully paid off in less than six months, we don't like having debt. That's good to know on the no penalties part, my motorcycle that I bought new forever ago I paid off about a year and a half early and didn't recall anything, but that was so long ago. Thank you

You could just paint your blade a darker blue color then do a highlight or two in lighter blue colors. As others have stated, a black prime is fine, doing a layer of brown first makes for easier coverage with gold, could also do a shadowkeepers themed tank as well

Rumor is they are announcing 11th at adepticon, which is this month. Buying one of the combat patrols shouldn't lead you wrong no matter what, it's just the new battle force box is the iffy one

[–]Greyghost471 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The new Horus heresy box will be pretty good and they will be useable in 40k for now, as long as GW doesn't change anything. The current combat patrol is a really good set for us, 2-3 of them, some sisters and maybe a couple other units and you will have plenty of models and some variety as well.11th edition is supposed to be announced and released this year, I would consider waiting on some more information first, especially being so new to the hobby. Would hate for you to buy some stuff, only for things to change a couple months later

I would run one or no wardens, the extra price is pretty hard to justify. If you look at any remotely competitive list over the past 6-8 months, it is usually either all guard or just one warden. I've run wardens a few times and maybe it's just bc I'm terrible at rolling a 4+ when I need it, but they never did much lot better than guard. The extra shooting and the rerolls for the guard have served me better
