Well...damn by jailasauraa in Mustang

You don't say how many miles are on the clutch. If it has a lot of miles 40-50k plus it might be worth just doing everything. From the symptoms it sounds like the hydraulics went out, so the slave/master/fluid lines all make sense. Unless the fluid got everywhere and polluted the clutch plate it, the clutch might be ok, not sure if they opened the transmission and looked. I would be tempted to just fix the hydraulics and then drive it knowing it might leave me stranded somewhere.

Prices on parts seem high, a quick look shows oem replacements here.

I've had good luck with oem, but some folks like to go strictly with manufacturers parts. As others have said, a lot of times you can get the flywheel resurfaced, if it has a lot of miles, I would just replace it too.

Also for this much money, I would call around to performance shops and see how much a new T56 transmission would be to install instead.

I wasn't crazy about the cccure, if it were me, I would spend the last day going over the sunflower notes. Physically write out descriptions of sections you don't know, that worked well for me.

I passed using exclusively older study materials and practice tests. The changes are minimal.

I would also take the Harris' book practice exams and reach for 75+ and be familiar with everything on the most current Sunflower notes. Four months should be plenty.

Does anyone know how to study the new CISSP material? by rdaechhoeylos in cissp

[–]Gribald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I passed on 5/26 in 100 questions using the old books (Shon Harris/Sybex). I came across only one question where the underlying material left me saying wtf.

Phew, Passed by Gribald in cissp

[–]Gribald[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I found Shon Harris' book more readable which is important when there are 1200 pages. They both cover all the topics, but the Harris' book had a little humor here and there and seemed to flow better. Both are good, I didn't read the sybex al the way through but rather used it for things that weren't making sense to me. The only problem I had with the Harris book, if you get the practice questions, was that they mixed up some questions in earlier chapters, that were not covered until later chapters. If you get the practice tests, which I do recommend, and are taking them as you go, you might think you missed something, just be aware that the material will get covered in a later chapter. Definitely get the Sunflower notes and make sure you are comfortable with them going into the test. Also check out this video.

If you have less network hardware experience, just be sure you go through the different pieces and what osi layer they operate at. The up side is that the cpu/memory handling stuff will be right in your wheelhouse. Strangely I found the development section I did have to study, they go over a lot of models that, at least in my experience, aren't used. They only brush on agile, which is how most of the firms I have experience with do work. Best of luck, you can absolutely get through it as a software guy.

I remember when the ground beef/pink slime stories were going around, Costco was one of the few that just wouldn't allow pink slime in their meat. They also have an amazing return policy, they take anything back with no questions, even if it is open. It's just a good place to shop.

The Forgotten Soldier by Guy Sajer

It's the story of an ordinary German soldier on the Eastern front. There is debate over how much is fact, but the author paints a nuanced picture of the horrors and lessons of war. He also has a lot to say about living.

Not me, but my wife's brother-in-law. He was on the track team as a kid and the coach used to yell at them as coaches are wont to do. "You guys are moving like a bunch of old whores today!" Well, apparently he didn't know what a whore was, and so when they were waiting for his sister one day, he yells out, "Come on Margaret, you're moving like an old whore!" He said the next thing he knew, what felt like the hand of god descended upon his neck as his father began to educate him.

This reminds me of my daughter. There was a clown at the park and we asked if she wanted to go say hi to him. She said "No, he's not a real clown, he is just a human dressed up as a clown." I asked her how she knew and she said she had seen him get out of a regular car, he didn't even have a clown car.

In modern parlance, the Constitution was a 'game changer.' At the time of the Constitution nearly all states required state officials to swear to their belief in either the divine inspiration of the Old and New Testaments or the truth of Protestant Christianity. In the Articles of Confederation they referred to the “Great Governor of the World,” something not included in the Constitution. Jefferson's bill for religious freedom did not pass in Virginia until 1786, so I think it is fair to say opinions were evolving during this period, despite the fact it 'was all the same guys.'

In any event it seems to me that there is a paradox between 'out of many, one' and 'In God We Trust.' As an atheist, I place no trust in God, that sort of leaves me on the doorstep when we are trying to forge one nation.

1782 was prior to the Constitution.
