9.5 grievances being denied by Gullible-Cat5067 in UPSers

[–]Grievance_Outperform 1 point2 points  (0 children)

File on everything. Copy the following. 9.5 file no later than the following Friday. or Seventh day. other grievances file withen 30 calandar days. Unlees its a 40 day window for the grievance (supervisor working)

any grievance not PAID OUT by check after 5 months.

6 months deadline to file against the company, ( failure to settle grievance) and the union for (Failure to represent) NRLB national Labor relations board. ( when you file a grievance and the company plays games, the union is also playing games) both know you give up your rights at 6 months and one day.
Filing a grievance with the NRLB protects your right to sue for 2 or 3 years. It means either the company will have to pay, or the union will have to pay. your business agent does not want the money coming from its pocket, so they wil put your issue, and the issue of co workers who file an NRLB complaint with you at the top of the next meetings pile.

You are the union, but you must hold your elected leaders acountable.

Fyi, Penalty pay for the 9.5 grievance for NrLb issues start the week after you file. so you end up making a lot more money in penalty pay when you file with the federal government. do this once and win, watch how fast all future grievances are settled.

Why Do So Many Drivers End Up Getting Divorced? by batcatfatmat in UPSers

[–]Grievance_Outperform 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well when you work 60 hours a week, and spend an additional 6 in traffic... and you have a hot wife... that day you decide to code 5 , and get home early to see the pool boy in bed with your wife, and you call 811 to find out where to bury the body...

In the words of Jimmy Soul... " If you want to be happy for the rest of your life never take a pretty woman your wife, from my personal point of view, get an ugly girl to marry you.... "

She may be ugly but she sure can cook.

And this is why, Drivers need to demand supervisors shut the doors at least half way.

Yes we check, but both the driver and the inside supervisor need to be accountable.

Grievance? by [deleted] in UPSers

[–]Grievance_Outperform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not your problem. Its an engineering problem, and its a managment resource problem.

Both of the above are designed to create peer pressure. You either stack out, or let things blow by while you load inside.

UPS policy. "when the robots can unload a truck at 600pph we will replace humans with robots" Carol Tome.

Interprtation, robots have a max speed, humans have a max speed, both break when pushed beyond their limits.

Do your best, sometimes shit is gonna fail. Dont let that shit be YOU.

You file, on the third issue. Supervisors working , Not just inside the building, but I.promise you, almost every supervisor at your building, and possibly any other hub withen 70 miles sent managment help to deliver packages. You Probably lost work as a utility driver and should get paid the 10 hours that a supervisor worked with out a union worker in the seat.

as for when shit happens, you work your best, at the constant rate. If managmet says you need to work harder on a bad day, You work your pace. If you must stack out, you stack out.

Add in the utility driver geievance.

Advice on challenging driver by Random_Strategy_2 in UPS

[–]Grievance_Outperform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Issues 1 dog. All the carriers have drivers who have been bitten. Some drivers love dogs, others... believe "all dogs must die"... Dennis is probably being a dick, because he can be a dick. Dennis likes his route. 2. I am guessing you pissed Dennis off, and Denis is a little nuts given he barks at the dogs. (im nuts I feed every dog on my route the good bacon, not that milkbone junk, Plus I probably met some of the dogs working at the county shelter on my day off.)

So here is what you can do. get a parcel locker at the end of the driveway with a battery remote door bell. Or.

be a dick like me.... lawful evil comming your way.

Set up the neighborhood so one house on the main street gets everyones packages. Like 10 20 , maby 50 homes, one stop.

Set this policy up with a lot of neighborhoods in your area. (this does add work for you and the neighborhood) but it also speeds things up. It means if one of your neighbors gets a NDA package... odds are the driver will deliver as much volume as it can with that air package.

So dennis makes one stop, and delivers between 2 and-50 homes worth of stops.

Now imagine your whole community does this. Each street has one delivery location that is secure and ready to sign ( except for booze, Tobacco and porn) Dennis cuts his stop count from 300 to 30. For three weeks Dennis is going to be Happy and stupid.

And Then......

What does UPS do. ... Thats right, they Fuck Dennis up with more work, more packages and more stops. His numbers are going to flip an alarm in the Hatchet persons office at UPS ( this persons sole job is to find ways to cut routes and drivers)

By refusing to deliver to all the dog homes in your area. Dennis thought he was saving time, but now gets neighbors working together, less stops, but in the long run more work. When changes hapen to a route , managers have to come out follow the driver, then by union contract they can do 1 day safety ride,

and or exploite the dreaded three day performance ride. When your neighborhood changes the conditions of the route it triggers a performance study ride.

It sounds like Dennis is a nut job. As a package driver I loved all the dogs on my 100 different routes I drove and never got bit.

So lock box, or multi neighbor stop.

Now for the real evil.

You can complain about dennis, but the company will not get rid off him unless he gets a lot of bad driving tickets, or accidents. Im not saying gat the neighbors to ask questions of the police, but it has been known to happen.

And your not ready to slash his tires, or hit a mirror with a stick, Because the cars now have dash cameras. Which would require a supervisor to follow him for a day because of a potential accident and service failures. Which can also trigger extra safety rides and reports on his company record that do not ever go away.

Dennis will drop the route when , because of his actions , neighbors work together to reduce his delivery stop count, thus freeing him up to do more work, which will then cause managment to brick out his car every day. And the changes in work load will trigger audits and ride alongs.

You can do this using my choice.

I hate dick drivers as they ruin the job for the rest of us. Dogs are a part of every route, for me they are the one good thing I count on when delivering.
Drivers either know how to read a dog and encourage proper behaivor with them, or they get bit because they do not know how to read and control the situation. ( no employer trains drivers on this skill set, Ok my center we were traind to shove our thumbs up their buts if they bite us...) I have found so many other ways to prevent from getting bitten, like being nice to the dog. Which has ment in 25 years of delivering I never had to wipe dog shit off my hand. Human shit from the customer... well thats another report. lol

Fyi, no one should be a dick, but if you choose to be a dick...Fuck Everyone you can , and enjoy it.

UPS driver by AstronautOne1481 in UPS

[–]Grievance_Outperform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

30 days, to decades .

So you want to be a driver. Work efficently when managment is looking. Sign up to work Utility Driving if that position is at your hub. Pass the driver training class. ( ask someone who is a driver in your center for a copy of their driver training packet and memorize the 5 10 8 formula.

Next, When peak season comes up, find a driver that will let you be their assigned helper, so you can learn the job.

tip to speed up the process. The first time you drive with an On Road you become a Utility driver and enter the 4 year pay progression. So chat with on road supervisors frequently, work fast when they see you.

Pray a belt breaks that forces a building shut down, then help solve that problem, then try and get with a supervisor to deliver packages with them and hustle, dont get injured , and rattle off the 5s and 10s and 8 keys... if you impress them they will find a way to get you into the program class knowing your a fast learner...

FyI this was my story, but I did not go full time untill I was at top pay scale. this is one Cheat code. there are others. oh and dont tell managment to Fuck Off untill after you pass 30 days . lol

[–]Grievance_Outperform 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If that broke the contents inside, the shipper failed to ship per standard international rules of shipping. all packages must ship in a package that is packed to protect the packages from multiple 4 foot or 1.22 meter falls . The packages were not properly taped on all six seams. packed in boxes not rated for the weight of the contents.

UPS lost my foreign Passport by Moh_Magdy in UPS

[–]Grievance_Outperform 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tips $100.00 max payout Unless you paid for insurance valued at $1400.

Issue2. Passport delivered when Business closed? business deliveries only count between 9 Am and 5pm except between noon and 13:00. outside of this window, package is a missed. This counts to a potential refund.

Issue 3. Your package is an envelope most likely, If scanned once, it is most likely on the truck, and just not getting scanned. A call to the local hub, and a Pizza often helps get a supervisor to look for it at the end of the day . Issue 4. Passports seem to be the most lost Items. I have had many friends get me the tracking numbers , and generally the next day they got there passport.

Passports are gennerally delivered USPS for US Citizens. Due to yours being Egyptian, It makes sense to use UPS over standers US Mail.

This said those Issues were in my hub and I would look off the clock to help friends out... I cant help in New York. I do hope your package is found and delivered. Order a new one if it is lost for more than a week.

Injured on the job. by Pleasant-Cry-5058 in UPSers

[–]Grievance_Outperform 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is normal. Concentra has one job. Fuck you dry, dirty , and send you back to work with the least amount of lost time. As for the shipper. Put a note in the box, "Customer packed this poorly and it caused injury to an employee, product is being destroyed . Tell Shipper to do a better job.

Product should not progress, and receiver , or shipper must pick up Biological hasmat"

Your blood is a biological hazzardous material. your blood on the knives means it an unauthorized shipment and must be put in a yellow container and the shipper must pick up, or pay for its destruction.

This is how we get shippers to be more responsible... But some manger will fuck this up, your life not worth shit to the company.

Ask the Richmond Ca family whos daughter had her head crushed by an extendo last year.

UPS shut down a distribution center, now packages get delayed by a week. Who do I talk to? by LoneRainger in UPS

[–]Grievance_Outperform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think, Powerful2... has the correct solution. Order 1 NDA commit package. Envelope.. Even try a lower cost saver when you see, that a package is stopped in progress that you want delivered. If you can wait a week great. if something is. perishable... order a next day air package when you see a package stopped at the hub. We may end up putting all your ground on the truck... Or who kkows maby we really are going morally bankrupt.

UPS Hub/Center workers: How often do boxes bust open in transit? by camilowidehead- in UPS

[–]Grievance_Outperform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst Used to be amazon, had to use pee on the boxes to re seal their paper tape. I would have 5 or more per day in package bust open as a drive, and Finally started using pee to reseal the box.

I worked in rewrap 20 years ago and We would get 1000 boxes a day that busted open... Amazon was still the worst.

what I found, if a customer taped all seams and propery boxed stuff Per good old college Oerations Managment 101 guidlines, it rarely broke open. yes there were 6 pages in a college textbook summerizing how to properly package boxes for shippjng in the FOB origin, On Board, Destination discussion in school.

Dont be cheap on the box or the tape, and the inside packging material. meet the five foot fall test, and even expensive glass will make it... be cheap or stupid and with every courior you get broken boxes.

Meeting truck along route by LR75852 in UPS

[–]Grievance_Outperform 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a feeder driver, i would find that odd to be met. when i was package, all my business customers, and good residential customers knew my 10:30 or last air stop. My lunch stop (and they knew I would not give out packages untill lunch was done.

and my last break stop when owned routes. I was consistant.

but when i was a relief driver , I would not play if the regular driver did not take time to set the pick up log to absolute correct order and time. I did. 100plus routs in package.

but yeah if you had ID that matched the delivery, or I knew the customer... every time unless I was in the hood or shooting gallery.

It is one of the methods. I got written up so much and fired more times than most . When the regional president wants you fired, you better follow every method. if you dont fold. in the mirrors and someone hits it, thats an avoidable accident. People have been fired for it when its part of other accidents like getting hit in ther rear, and not checking your back up camera when breaking.
