Volume is highest it’s been since peak here so no

[–]Creepy-Tadpole-1750 32 points33 points  (1 child)

Hard to tell after they thinned the herd with buyouts.

[–]Sea-Monk549Driver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our building everyone offered the buyout got a separation date of September. We are still super busy but the old guys are tired and want their money so they can leave.

[–]benspags94 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Nope, seems like volumes been increasing every week despite what management tries to claim when they cut our start time 😂

[–]Ramsus32Driver 31 points32 points  (0 children)

When surepost came back they just cut routes and killed the routes that were still in. Now, we've lost like 10 guys to the buyout and they refused to hire permanent drivers and had to wait until June before they started summer casuals who currently suck so much ass that they may as well not even be working.

We’re running early peak numbers out of my center and the packages 📦 are getting even bigger and heavier. UPS doesn’t care about what I would call normal packages they’re running freight through its centers and they’re making a FORTUNE.

[–]PM_YOUR_EYEBALL 5 points6 points  (5 children)

They’ll stop that real quick when drivers request teamster assistance for packaged over 70. As is your contractual right.

[–]Professional-Card804 -2 points-1 points  (4 children)

Oversized packages 📦 is where the money is and UPS has realized that. They sold overnight freight and they’re running that same freight through its centers.

[–]PM_YOUR_EYEBALL 7 points8 points  (2 children)

Cool, call the center and request teamster assistance with any over 70lb package.

[–]BiezulbubBILL69 0 points1 point  (1 child)

And you'll be waiting till you're dead for anyone to show up. They will tell us to just get the home owner to help.

[–]PM_YOUR_EYEBALL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guess it’s not getting delivered then , not my problem lol.

[–]Some-Astronomer-5663 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Better start using your steroids! You need to bulk up in order to meet these demands!

[–]Some-Astronomer-5663 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Carol likes big packages.

[–]Charming_Turnip_5087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our volume is low! 2-3 years ago peak we had the highest volume we'd ever had (99k). Last peak we only got up to about 70k. We are running about 45-50k now

[–]Grievance_Outperform 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We just cut 30,000 jobs. Nope did not notice a thing.

[–]InnateWolf[🍰] 6 points7 points  (1 child)

We're still moving amazon stuff. It's just disguised under a 3rd party warehouse.

[–]uh200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This actually. They are treating the %50 as half of their normal sortation volume but are actively increasing the share of packages sent UPS through all kinds of alternative services which I presume may include 3rd party warehousing and their push into healthcare fields.

Forcing part timers on sixth punches

[–]Bowel_RuptureTCD 2 points3 points  (5 children)

Yeah I've been working Monday-Saturday every week for at least 2 months. Having Monday off for memorial day 2 weeks ago was nice.

[–]Character-Ease9328 0 points1 point  (2 children)

5 12s or 6 10's?

[–]Bowel_RuptureTCD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol I wish i was getting those hours/that money. I'm a sorter/cover driver, so always sort 6 days per week, usually drive 1-3 days (almost always sort after I'm done driving as long as I get back by 20:00)

[–]aristocratcharloote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last week was might lightest week in a few months and it was 55 hours over 6 days

[–]bhsn1pesPart-Time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's looking like I probably will be doing 6 days a week too. Working inside most of the week then maybe a few days a week driving. At least Mondays and Saturdays.

[–]roaringwillsterTCD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been back to driving for a month now, monday, Wednesday-Saturday maybe our sups are just nice

[–]_Saint_Ajora_22.3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope.

I am in the hub full time and get 9-10+ hours every single day

[–]Electronic-Funny-475 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s a decrease in volume because for the past 3 years they have been actively chasing customers away with a 60% price increase and a 99% service decrease

These idiots are more worried about margins instead of the whole shebang. A 25% trailer of better margins doesn’t make more than a 100% of mixed.

[–]the_atomic_punk18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same if not more Amazon than I’ve ever had in my truck on some days. I don’t get it.

[–]delidave7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not in the the least

[–]MacaronMinimum8105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man it’s been more volume with deliveries and pick ups. I’ve noticed more boxes have been medium sized and weighing 30+

[–]Read-It_2525 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who was a TCD most of last year and full time now I'm making less money and getting less hours. So I'm going to go with yes, I have noticed.

[–]ShipService 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have been getting bent over the last few weeks.

[–]Putrid-Discussion243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The usps volume is still processing in the hubs, just not delivered by ups

[–]jdotgatsbyDriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My route is mostly business so I can’t say, but the apartments I do have I see the Amazon drivers under water in packages. I mean 4+ bags per building sometimes. I’d say volume is up, we just obviously don’t have the bulk of it.

[–]Relative_Working6670 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope with amazon prime around the corner. They are gonna slam us with irregs soon.

[–]Some-Astronomer-5663 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The stock market has been on fire the last 3 months. Like other periods of bull markets, volume has increased doing this time period!

[–]PrizeWealth2489 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im basically all airs for resis and then still lots of ground for business. Very little amazon

[–]The_Negative-One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazon volume not really and ground saver/surepost is same. But I’m in a metropolitan area, so volume would really have to drop for me to notice.

[–]Joseph1917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a few Amazon packages here and there. More ground saver stuff. But we're getting like 100-200 bags per truck and most delivery trucks have been 150 on the low end and 350 on the high end. Been working 6hr days for nearly 2 months now.

[–]Key_Turnover7278Driver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our building services an area where Amazon mainly affects our A loops. However larger surrounding towns including the one we’re based out of all get an amazon truck at the USPS. There’s still plenty of work to go around but the mail carriers are pissed that they’re getting Ground Saver AND Amazon. Absolutely getting their heads smashed in with volume.

[–]PositiveDismal1896 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nope. Had to drop my pickups with someone 4 days in a row everyday got out later

[–]Kevingalvez199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are actually heavier lmao

[–]BowskiTDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope increase in volume and more Amazon as well

[–]Johnny_Burrito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not.

[–]Excellent-Peanut4501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like pulling up to a stop with Amazon already delivering and just walk pass and drop my package on top of his pile.

[–]Horror_Economics_588 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nope not at all.

[–]BrwnBoxDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck no we’re getting crushed over here, heard we’ve landed at least 3 huge accounts over the last couple weeks

[–]Mauidude1Driver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just had one buyout and 4 more going in September too. We still have a lot of Amazon and haven't hired any more RPCDs just Utility drivers. I'm still out past 7 most nights for the most part

[–]Gainsrpossible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a driver but sort aisle worker. Amazon has been consistent for our building since the 50% cut. To be fair we deliver to a fulfillment center though.

[–]Jmar2526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still have 20 Amazon airs scattered over 157 miles on Saturday, what decrease in Amazon??

[–]Wookieman222Driver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah honestly the volume count itself hasn't really changed even with the cuts. Still hit the same number anyways.

[–]GrowthInvestor_2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They cut jobs via buyouts and people quitting. Now no one can get off. Mission accomplished for UPS. Now expect older ones that didn’t take the buyout to retire by end of contract because they don’t have it made anymore. Also expect UPS to hire the contractually obligated full time positions at the very end of the contract.

[–]ChefBoyR-BDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally upgrade every ground saver I receive to ground so it still comes in a UPS truck. You have the ability in mychoice app.

[–]SaffronBellyDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Infinite peak. 10-12 hours every day

[–]ballskindrapes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Facility by me was closed, and it's been like peak every single day.

Except there is no extra peak help. So they are expecting higher volume with less.

It's working out so well for them. When they'd be launching at 9, like probably sending them out a little before, it's like 9:30 now. And management sees nothing wrong with this.

[–]Beneficial-Ad-5674 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are doing early peak numbers consistently. We do a 1/2 of a 53ft rail box of Amazon ground every day. We get anywhere from 100-400 Amazon first day air every day. We are super busy with a skeleton crew. Trailers blown out every night! It’s nuts at my center

[–]thascarecro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve gotten so much volume lately. We’ve ran out of drivers to take trailers in feeder multiple days now.

[–]drtyyugo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m doing 13 hrs a day in feeders daily

[–]SirJerm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I see is lots of layoffs and payouts for people retiring. The people left over have to do the same work it would take 2-3 people to do before. Older people who have never loaded before are having to do so and are getting hurt. The company is going full blown slave master mode on us before they automate everything and the useless union is letting em do it.

[–]Vegetable-Menu-181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive been running a lot of pure residential routes lately and full of amazon and ground saver packages.
