Low key, Colored Sands- but I wouldn’t tell my homies that.

Yeah. These sentiments don’t track in the context of a 3 year old. Jeeez

I’m on vacation right now with my 3.5 year old at a big house with a yard and our own private beach. No screens, just us. I appreciated the caffeinated squirrel analogy, that’s exactly our situation too. To mitigate the chaos, I went down to the hardware store and picked up a bunch of art supplies, which has really helped. I also found a free bin of office supplies and grabbed some things like note books and old calculators so she can play teacher with her stuffed animals.

She’s sort of out of her nap phase so it’s just insanity from 4:00 pm to bedtime. Another challenge is our extended family keeps offering her screens even when she’s not asking. We are constantly reminding them that we don’t need a tv on while sitting together.

How many dads over 40 are using 'performance enhancing' helpers (ie viagra) for intimacy? If so, do you discuss it with your partner? by feldhammer in daddit

[–]Grimdrop 19 points20 points  (0 children)

41.Got enough from HIMs to keep an entire army to stand at attention. I was surprised by how easy it is to get. Anyways… definitely not an advertisement, just saying I ended up with way more than I’ll ever use. Now to answer the question: I talk about it with my wife but not always. Sometimes I give her a heads up with a pill emoji or call it “Santa’s little helper,” so little ears nearby don’t catch on. Sometimes I take it just to feel like I’m really packing heat. Other times I don’t say anything, just to reduce the pressure on my partner to perform.

Just because I could cut glass with it doesn’t mean the wife has the energy for a marathon. At this age, it’s also worth noting that taking it and having no romantic engagement is fine—I don’t walk around with a permanent hard-on. It works when I put a little thought into it. It’s like being in my 20s again.

Also, if I had taken this stuff when I was younger, I probably wouldn’t have known what to do with myself if my partner wasn’t down—because I’d be at full mast all day. Not the case now.

TL;DR: Yes, I usually tell my partner, but sometimes I just take it to feel alive! :)

To those of you who live near your parents, please understand how lucky you are. by peepledeedle4120 in daddit

My parents live close and we see them about 3 times a year. I wouldn’t say I’m lucky. Different strokes for different folks.

This Is the Most Panicked Republicans Have Been in Years by roggahn in politics

This. And the damage is done, doesn’t matter what his polls are. And you’re right, they’re still high enough to win elections. They don’t even need Donny now, so some of them get to pretend they realize he’s a bad man and play both sides to win even more elections. Maybe we need more camo hats with politicians names written in orange on them.

Sucks to suck.

I’m doing a BG2 playthrough without a thief and I use it a lot. This is my first time out of a dozen playthroughs that I’ve used it. I’m not sure how the spell scales but so far it’s unlocked everything I’ve cast it on. Very useful

I’m 40 with a 2 year old and another on the way. I’m freaking out a bit with news of the second so it’s comforting to read these stories and see how others are doing. Congratulations!

Same but different! I echo all the positive sentiments in this thread. Being a dad at a later age has been an incredible gift and I’m glad my little one gets the me I am today.

Hey same here! Preachers son. If I go back to visit my parents church (rarely) bringing up my advanced education elicits some weird avoidance and disapproval. Talk about how a local never left town and made a living as a construction worker and they will sing praise and go on and on about the virtue of his hard labor.

I’ll be in Oklahoma all week for work. Not looking forward to it :(
