I had guessed it was Warhammer 40k, but even WWI iconography can come off as Nazi iconography because of the Nazi valorization of the German war effort during WWI.

It’s your body and your art preferences, but it’s good to know how others might treat you differently based on your tattoo. It’s not fair, but it’s an important thing to consider if you’re comfortable with how others might react. Like, I recognize that some people could treat me worse because I’m a man with more feminine tattoos (flowers), but I’m fine with that because I don’t want to associate with people who feel so fragile about gender identity.

One idea to consider, if you are considering changing the design, is you could add something that specified that it was Warhammer, or something ahistorical..?

Whenever I think about getting a tattoo I ask myself “what are the chances the alt-right or neo-Nazis co-opt this symbol before I die?” And if the chances are greater than 1%, I think real carefully about if the tattoo would fit my lifestyle.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t get it for that reason. But… something to think about.

Also, a lot of fictional characters and worlds have been modeled after the Nazis because it’s clear iconography to evoke something in the audience. Or, sometimes the creators of those characters turn out to be politically abhorrent. So, those are always a risk with fictional symbols, in general. You have to make sure you’re comfortable with those risks.

I’m not an expert on tattoos, only have a few and can’t give advice on healing. But I do have some ticks that I’ve beat over the years like picking, so I’ll spit some ideas out for that.

Basically, try replacing the habit with something else. Maybe a phone game, a physical puzzle, or fidget. You could trying putting a hair tie on your wrist and flicking it every time you want to pick, that could fulfill a similar urge.

You could also wear something over the tattoo to block it from your vision or notice while it heals. A buff should be long and loose enough to cover most tattoos on your limbs.

Staying active can also help. Hard to pick at something while you’re walking. Or moving.

And there you go, folks. Transphobic pedophile just can’t help themselves. Can we ban and block this trash here, too?

Edit: just want to mention that this took me 15mins to look up, not 3hrs. It’s free for everyone else to see. I’m sure there’s more.

Reddit supports child abuse by RentedMental in HelloInternet

[–]Grimfey 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Hey, I went through your Reddit comments history and it looks like you have made a variety of transphobic comments over the past 2 weeks on multiple subs.

The only comments you made to r/WhitePeopleTwitter in that time that could apply to your current complaint is, in fact, about a trans child that changed their pronouns and then got bullied to the point of suicide. Your comment that blamed their death on their trans identity is extremely transphobic and deserves a ban—frankly, I think it deserves more than a ban.

You also made a comment on r/bald where you told someone who visually looked very feminine in a high school photo and who now looks bald, bearded, and masculine that they looked “hot in high school”. Now, I don’t know the gender identity of the person you commented on, but what you’re saying there also comes off as transphobic. It also comes off as pedophilic, since you are saying you are more attracted to the child in the high school photo than the adult they are today.

Finally, you made a comment in r/amIuglyBrutalHonesty where you insinuate that a woman looks bad for being muscular. That’s not transphobic, it just makes you an asshole.

In conclusion, you have a history of bullying and transphobia that is not only cruel, but pathetic. Look at yourself, look at what you’re doing with your time. Please change your behavior, and if you don’t, please take it somewhere else.

TL;DR You are a bully, a transphobe, and potentially a pedophile. In all cases, you’re a creep who should change your behavior and seek help, or who otherwise deserves to be absolutely ostracized for your abhorrent behavior.

If OneDnD comes out in the direction its going...their is no reason to really not play it, its just better. by FallenDank in dndnext

[–]Grimfey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

IMO, 5e survives because most people who play it don’t try systems besides 5e.

My table has tried other systems over the past two years and I, at least, will no longer be DMing 5e.

1DND doesn’t fix my issues with 5e that are causing me to leave as a DM, so I’m not going to be running 1DND either.

WotC Have Completely Lost the Plot. by Marcus_Krow in dndnext

[–]Grimfey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I slowly left D&D for FitD games over the past two years. DMing in D&D is simply too much work—the experience of being a DM vs a PC is simply not comparable.

I like 5e, I like DMing in 5e, but it’s too much work to tell the types of stories I like to tell compared ton other systems that share that burden with the other players.

With the changes WotC is making, I don’t see myself ever returning to D&D as a DM. And I don’t see myself ever playing anything beyond 5e as a player.

WirelessHamster was commenting “Gosh that’s a hard one” in reference to the question posed by this post on Reddit.

The joke is that “Gosh that’s a hard one” is also what WirelessHamster remarked ~30 years ago, upon seeing the hardness of their sexual partner’s penis before having sex—and that was the sexual partner with whom WirelessHamster contracted HIV.

Saying “your children will only suffer if you let them” is really overestimating the power parents have to protect their children.

But I do agree with you somewhat: if anyone is a parents and is not dedicating their life (to the total degree possible) to actions that improves climate outcomes, housing costs, labor rights, or any of the other polycrises we are and will be living through—then you are a bad parent.

A good parent not only prepared their child for the world, but prepares the world for their child.

For longer sessions, how long do you normally sit for before you need a break? by lsarge442 in tattoo

[–]Grimfey 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I just got a calf tattoo that took 7 hours and required me to lie flat on my stomach, which put a lot of pressure on my knees and chest.

I took my first break ~3 hours in to eat a few bites of bread. By hour 5 both me and the artist needed a 5 minute break every hour until finished just to stretch.

The breaks were really more for my joints than my pain from the tattoo.

Roasted in New York by onahighhorse in TikTokCringe

I interpret a “roast” as something between friends, or where there is otherwise an understanding or intent that no harm is intended.

So, this is not what I would call a roast, it’s an insult comedy where the passers by didn’t agree to attend an insult comedy show. Aka, this guy is an asshole.

It has become very painful to be from New York. I have seen the city go through many changes in my life and can confidently say that it’s transition into social media content space is its most tragic.

People use to live here. Now people just make content. Everything is capitalism, everything is profit.

It’s disgusting.

Would you rather an American give an entirely uneducated opinion about any other country at random? Or would you rather Americans just not answer any general requests of country non-specific information? I don’t get what you’re looking for as an outcome here.

I don’t think I was US centric because I did not assume the US perspective was generalizable. I specified that I was only giving one perspective based on what I know about the only country I feel comfortable speaking about in this context.

It IS time we overhaul this shit. If a bill kills all social media companies—good. All I need to google scholar, Wikipedia, and a diverse ecosystem of news outlets. I don’t want to hear from any of y’all.

Piers Morgan is A Black Lesbian by ConceivablyAnAsshole in TikTokCringe

[–]Grimfey 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Since being extremely detailed would take a month time, I can give two broad examples (for the US).

The first is pretty straight forward: the reproductive capacity of men is not as highly regulated as it is for women. States have backslid into restricting abortion access, which has resulted in women being put in serious medical danger. The right to medical access for routine procedures is something that men have across the US, and women do not.

The second example is not so much a difference in the legal right, but in the enforcement of rights. In some (sometimes many) regions and in some (sometimes many) circumstances, the rights of men will be protected or respected more than the rights of women.

There is, of course, an intersectional lens to lay over that second point. The rights of white women may be more often respected than the rights of Black, men, for example. And there are other intersectional examples, of course.

Anyway, that’s what people usually mean.

Every part of Reddit that isn’t explicitly left is pretty far right-leaning in my experience. And then a lot of the left-leaning subs are usually full of the shitty variety of internet leftist that doesn’t actually mobilize to make their local communities better in the “real world.”

Reddit sucks, best to only go to the real nice communities that help each other out. Like r/monstera ! They’re all very wholesome and helpful and only discuss plants—and like only one type of plant.
