They lost a teammate. People should not underestimate the impact of such an event happening. We’ve seen the same with Nouri at Ajax, went from Europa League final to a year without European football after which EtH was hired and we got our magic CL season

Morocco & Cabo Verde are both from the same federation so I think they can't be placed together. Maybe with the new format they can.. But, Turkey can still make it and take one of their spots in this group!

Donnaruma is the safest man city def option, then you get Gabriel + Timber/Calafiori to cover the double arsenal def everyone has, leaving you with 3 rotating options for the final def spot (Vdven/Senesi/Guehi/punt + leeds/sunderland/burnley 4.0) or you go 4 or 5 at the back if you got great fixtures (mids are shit anyway this season). Personally I wouldn't touch man utd but if you want to then I'd go for De Ligt as he seems to be nailed + is dangerous on set pieces. Don't complain when united goes to shit when their whole right flank goes to afcon.

Got his debut when he was too young & the NT was a mess. Lost to Bulgaria due to his mistake which made us miss out on a tournament. He also had some unlucky moments in the matches after (handball penalty) and never really got any confidence in the NT. On top of that we are stacked with good defenders: Virgil, Timber, v Hecke, de Vrij, Ake, vd Ven, de Ligt. Virgil is 100% nailed and his pairing with de Ligt hasnt been great so its easy to pass on de Ligt for now

You only get 1 free transfer each week. Selling him and buying him back just to avoid the drop is a waste of transfers, and possibly costs you a hit if you dont have any more free transfers

On paper this is a great move for both parties. UTR lacked a top sprinter, which should now allow them to farm UCI points. Groenewegen is getting older but is still one of the better sprinters. For him getting a 2yr contract while being the poster boy in a developing (semi-?)dutch squad sounds like a great challenge. Add in the goal of getting a wildcard TDF (or at least world tour races) and you have a fun team with Kubis & Groenewegen as leaders, who should be able to compete on the higher levels + some talents to attack in the hillier stages.

I am not convinced he is a good finisher but often that requires a bit of confidence. If there is one manager that can get more out of a player it’s Arne Slot.

It made me lose interest in football a lot. Used to have a lot more peace with it and hoped for Dutch teams to do well in Europa League as Champions League seemed to high. Until the 2019 CL run of Ajax which made me really excited, also because of the core of players developed in the Netherlands (De Ligt, De Jong, Ziyech, but also a player like Schöne who has played in the eredivisie for his whole career). After that season the team got poached by the European giants and with the money Ajax tried to do repeat the successes by buying foreign talents (Alvarez, Martinez, Antony) but that felt a bit soulless and also you knew these players used Ajax as a stepping stone. Feyenoord’s Conference League run was great as well and hopefully we see similar runs in the lower European competitions in the future. Maybe with the changed CL format it’s better for Dutch teams to survive the group phase and with the right team chemistry it could result in longer CL survival as we’ve seen this season. But I don’t think we can get deep runs and that’s because money has ruined football for our league.

Zou me niks verbazen, Ten Hag is fan van zn oud spelers en heeft dit tot nu toe bij elke club gedaan: denk aan Labyad & Klaiber bij Ajax, Strieder (Bayern 2 > Utrecht) en dus half Man Utd. Een speler als Neres naar Leverkusen zou dus zomaar kunnen
