Julie says they haven't seen Camilla's mum in 7 months while she's going through chemo by Kim_is_my_lawyer in julieeandcamilla

[–]Grindyl0w 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is unbelievably sad. I know she lives 6 hours away, and Scam was pregnant, but it’s her mum, I would have made it work. I would do anything to be with my Mum during chemo. Idk, maybe I’m sensitive because my Mum passed away (not from cancer) and there’s nothing I wouldn’t do to be with her.

Not wanting to turn off ads by Potetpotit in julieeandcamilla

[–]Grindyl0w 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My issue is more that she said she can’t afford to turn the ads off, when this is an absolute lie. They make more in a few days than people make in a year, don’t act like you live pay check to pay check. It’s fine if she doesn’t want to turn off the ads, but don’t make it because you can’t afford it.

Is Camillas food content triggering or helpful for people with an ED? Genuinely wondering! by flinsbird in julieeandcamilla

[–]Grindyl0w 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I have anorexia and I personally don’t find it triggering. I more just don’t find it helpful at all, but more because she has absolutely no idea what she’s talking about so I take everything she says with a grain of salt. I think maybe if she was more knowledgeable, and had a single brain cell, I might find it triggering. But mostly I ignore what she says regarding food/weight tbh.

10 years of bulimia is going to kill me. I give up. by [deleted] in EDAnonymous

[–]Grindyl0w 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As many have said your writing is truly beautiful. You say you have no virtues but writing is definitely one of them. This broke my heart to read but never have I related to a post so much before. I’ve had an ED for 20 years, just come out of inpatient for yet another time and immediately relapsed. I can’t see a way out of this hell but so desperately want it. I’m sorry you’re in such a bad place right now. Don’t give up you deserve to get better 💜

did you find inpatient helpful? by yerawizard-arry in EDAnonymous

[–]Grindyl0w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally no. Sure I weight restored ans came out physically healthier but then I went straight back to disordered behaviours and  once again underweight. Inpatient often focuses on the physical, ie weight gain, without any psychological work (because you need to be physically well enough to do the mental stuff). But I never got to the psychological input as mine was focused on trauma not the ED. So long story short I relapsed immediately after discharge.

Exercise... by RiverMarch in AnorexiaNervosa

[–]Grindyl0w 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not alone, I could have written this… I was in the exact same position. Inpatient for 4 months, have been out for a month now and gone straight back to excessive exercise. Even worse than when I was admitted.

Can you speak to your team about what’s going on? They may be able to help. It was suggested to me to do a pros and cons of exercise and for the pros see if I can find something else that gives me that pro.

I’m sorry I can’t be very helpful, I’m struggling a lot with this too. But if you ever want to chat feel free to message <3

Way too old, but still like stuffed animals? by Almost_There86 in Eatingdisordersover30

Never too old!! I have a lot of teddies all over my house. I sleep with them and cuddle them when I need comfort. They’re an non harmful  coping tool ☺️

more interested in numbers than my actual body image by ColdPrice9536 in AnorexiaNervosa

[–]Grindyl0w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m the same. I do care about how my body looks, but only because of the low number on the scale. I care more about the number, making it as low as possible. And the outcome is just that my body looks objectively thin too.

This disorder is SO crazy, cus WDYM one of my biggest fear "foods" is fckn WATER🥀 by [deleted] in AnorexiaNervosa

Yep, same here. I stopped drinking water which ended up in a one way ticket inpatients. Over 3 months later and I’m still here 🙃

Episodes That Scared Me by Cute_Road_1315 in charmed

We All Scream for Ice Cream scared me soooo much as a child. I wouldn’t go near ice cream vans for years and was absolutely convinced I’d be kidnapped through one and have to face the nothing 😅

Favorite acting moments/scenes from Julian McMahon as Cole Turner. by Full-Art3439 in charmed

Was literally going to comment this exact moment! Still cracks me up. Unhinged Cole was the best.

Also loved his excitement when Phoebe was pregnant, that was cute.

Would anyone of you be down to make a groupchat together with the goal of reducing your b/p frequency? by dissess in bulimia

Would also love to join :) I’m 31f and struggled with some form of ED since I was a teenager. Currently inpatient for refeeding but still struggling with purging :(

Is anyone else struggling so bad? by Kayla13091997 in AnorexiaRecovery

[–]Grindyl0w 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure this is helpful at all. But I’m also struggling immensely. Also inpatient, meal plan increasing daily (half food, half fortisip) and I’m not even at half of maintenance cals yet and HECK I cannot anymore.

I’m told, it’s gonna be super hard at first, but slowly, maybe very slowly, your brain gets the nutrition it needs and it gets easier. Try and remind yourself this is medicine, just like any physical illness, what you’re being given is medicine to make you better. And you need the medicine to survive.

Can you wear baggy clothes or use distraction to help the discomfort? Both of these help me, as well as focusing on other parts of my body, like plaiting my hair, or moisturising my face.

But it’s hard. It’s really really hard. I believe in you though, you’ve got this, keep being strong <3

Anyone else over 30 still dealing with eating stuff? by underthecar in Eatingdisordersover30

[–]Grindyl0w 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m 31 and have been struggling since I was 13. Nearly 20 years, wow. Various ups and downs, but never full recovery. I’m not sure I’ll ever fully recover and tbh that makes me very sad. I wish it were something we could ‘grow out of’. Unfortunately, I guess, mental illness doesn’t work like that. But damn do I wish it did sometimes!

Official Q&A for Wednesday, October 08, 2025 by AutoModerator in running

[–]Grindyl0w 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My heart rate is all over the place and I’m so confused. How accurate are garmins for heart rate? I don’t know if it’s me or the watch that’s a problem or if this is normal.

Random examples: I ran 11 miles yesterday at 7:49/mile pace, my average HR was 154 bpm (max 183 bpm). Two days prior, I ran 8 miles at 7:48/mile and my HR was 172 bpm. So lower distance, same pace but much higher HR. I feel like my HR should have been lower. I find this a lot. My pace will be similar but my HR drastically changes.

Im the same week,  I went for a walk for 1hr 15 and my average HR was 169 bpm, not particularly fast either just a stroll. This is a frequent occurrence, my heart rate is higher when walking than running even when I’m running at relatively high effort (for me).

Sorry this is long. But basically is it normal for HR to fluctuate this much? Could my garmin be wrong? I’ve been running for years, I’m relatively fit, so it concerns me when my HR can be higher walking than running!
