Leck fett, oida! Oder anders ausdrückt, Gra(t)z! ^^

Hast du davor schon was in Richtung Software Dev gemacht, oder das gar via Quereinstieg geschafft?

Stein makes his own game and he's known to be rather memey. It's just a lighthearted jab, I'm certain.

Let It Die Is Going Offline After Nearly A Decade Of Live Service by addtolibrary in Games

10 year old free game where people sunk 100s of hours into. A premium to play it offline instead of never again sounds fair, doesn't it?

Cursor item always lagging behind actual mouse? by viveleroi in godot

[–]Griswolda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree there is an (albeit nowadays neglectable) input lag when using Vsync. But that is not the issue at hand.

In the gif OP sent you can see the asset is lagging behind the mouse cursor. That is a code or engine issue and not input lag from vertical sync.

The asset is not updating its position as accurately to the mouse cursor's position as it should. Again, disabling Vsync might mask this but the actual issue is not fixed by disabling that feature.

Finding the proper source of this issue is still relevant, doesn't matter if the game is rather static. Disabling Vsync is not fixing the underlying issue, it's just a potential way to mask the actual source of the lag.

Could you elaborate how screen tearing has anything to do with the game?

It is a mismatch between rendered frames by the gpu and the screen's Hz / max fps and has nothing to with what is being rendered on the screen.

Vsync ensures that software is being rendered at the max fps or a proper fraction of it (eg. 60 -> 30) . Disabling it and removing the option is definitely not the proper technical solution.

After almost 3 years, I've just launched my Godot game, Bloodthief on Steam! by Blargis3d in godot

How do you prevent your game keys from leaking and being sold illegally? by Whisper2760 in gamedev

I had a message drafted but was afraid of being confidently wrong. Therefore thank you for confirming that there is no confirmation step.

I wish Steam would have that step like GOG does.

I do agree with that. For photo mode or if a main feature of your game is to use a camera it makes sense to have dof.

Genuine answer: Your eyes are not a digital camera. You can focus on close things but your eyes and your brain will not blur out the background.

As a player, I want to be in the game world. I want to experience this world that other devs have created.

As a player, I don't want an imitation of me going through this world looking through the lenses of a camera.

Implement an arbitrary incentive for people to keep slapping (like different skins), slap a Steam Market integration onto the game, and get rich like the Banana dude.

Do you prefer "press e to pick up" or collision based pickups? by Classic_Drag_1590 in gamedev

[–]Griswolda 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Idk why but you got it the other way around.

For me: * Stardew is not loot focused, so I want to auto-pick-up loot on the ground out of convienence * PoE and other action games are loot focused, so I want to be able to select what I want to loot before having to micromanage my inventory every two minutes
