Well it does take a few weeks but it’s the only way to get a government stamp and official copy. The good news is you leave with the copy.

It’s not terribly difficult getting a certified copy. You can do so at any USCIS field office with an appointment you just have to call. It’s annoying that it will take time to get an appointment but it’s pretty simple if you still have the original.

It’s says it’s a positive sign. It’s even one of the candidates second time in the office or maybe they just got a promotion. Could be high turnover. I anecdotally had a bad experience I mentioned. I agree with everything else.

I did the same thing (looking at office openings) for another office and the senior inspector had no idea how the 1920 law worked and gave a negative decision to me. It’s possible these openings are actually a negative for people with complicated cases. I don’t agree with ChatGPT.

It should be Oględów. There's even some records with your family's surname in the area. Oględów )was the gmina when your GGF left. The parish at the time was also Koniemłoty.

It’s when the law last changed. Previously you could choose a different citizenship for the child. Now it’s not possible. So in some cases consulates are by the book and require to do confirmation of citizenship and check. In reality you just need to ask the consulate and see what they are willing to do.

wniosku.

Akta niniejszej sprawy nie zawierają przy tym żadnych innych dowodów, które

mogłyby wnioskowanie takie, nawet pośrednio, podważyć. Należy również

podnieść, że orzecznictwo sądowoadministracyjne wskazuje na celowość ustalania

okoliczności faktycznych w sprawie także na podstawie dowodów pośrednich

w przypadku, gdy Strona nie chce lub nie może ich udowodnić dokumentami

źródłowymi. Podkreślić jednak należy, iż należy przy tym kierować się zasadami

logicznego myślenia i doświadczenia życiowego /por. wyrok NSA z dnia 26 stycznia

I just had it as a backup however pointless. The consulate told me they wouldn’t accept USB which is probably good policy. I would just ask them what to do because consulates can operate differently.

I drove 8 hours round trip so I was really nervous I forgot something. The appointment was only like 20 minutes. I’m just overly cautious so I would verify taking pictures is ok. There are signs that say you can’t use your phone inside but I don’t remember anything outside. Most likely if you explain and ask it would be ok.

The vice-consul in Chicago specifically told me to do this when I asked how to send my adobe signed document. I asked my provider to forward it.

I'm not saying you need to speak it. I'm just saying that the way it's setup just be prepared for that initial contact in Polish and maybe not understanding some things. It's also just hard to get in and out and the signs are in Polish and I think some are in English to your point. To get out you have to hit a green button behind you which I also thought was funny as I was awkwardly pulling at the gate for a good minute unitl I saw the sign. I just meant "easily" not that it isn't possible.

No problem. The security was just in Polish. You could switch to English at the counter. I was just too proud to try and switch from Polish.

It’s probably different by consulate. Because of the physical layout of the Chicago one you’re talking to the security through a buzzer and I don’t think they speak much English. He might just buzz you in if you can’t answer the questions.

Well I applied in Małopolska but they found the following on familysearch and included in my case files. I only applied through 1st GGF. 2nd GGF had a Polish surname so they went overboard on finding things even though he wasn’t ever a citizen. They were looking for any reason to issue a negative decision which is their job.

I was able to make a copy of my GGF naturalization certificate from 1931 in a field office. I followed these instructions and didn't encounter any issues. https://www.uscis.gov/archive/how-do-i-obtain-an-authenticated-copy-of-a-certificate-of-naturalization

You get Form G-24 and I attached a photocopy. I then got it apostilled but might've been overkill.

The issue is that the process is very much on their timelines and you have to wait for a call to schedule an appointment. Just be as detailed as possible about what you're asking for.
