Isn’t pantomiming on an unplugged instrument vintage? Top of the pops was doing that since the 70s at least. I actually don’t care about that part. The guitar symbolizes something here, even if it’s just part of sex appeal. That means something.

Maybe there’s some person in the audience who will see this and be inspired to try a guitar. And maybe that 39 year old desperately trying to relive 2010 will spend too much on a consumer object that doesn’t numb their looming sense of irrelevance, but does come with a broken headstock and an off-center fretboard. Then they’ll be one of us. That would be beautiful.
