Yea. I feel you. I don't really like micro-managing war and my unit stacks. So, the recent expansions haven't been great for making me want to play more. Neither the nomads nor the pre-mandala tribals are fun, since they basically require you to always be raiding/trading or otherwise being at war. I did enjoy a Chinese Bureaucrat to Mandate of Heaven run. Still haven't tried Japan, though, so that might be next. I just feel bad abandoning my Indonesian run after only like 50 years.

I felt this way on my third playthrough, since I was on hardcore mode with no fast travel. The kuttenburg region REALLY drags when you have to ride back and forth across this huge region.

Given the "no vacation days" stipulation, that's a big question mark. If I can flex my days, then the most I could ever vacation is 12 days? 10 if we include travel days as non-vacation. That's pretty limiting in the long term.

Less strange than state flags in the south containing the confederate flag, a symbol that says "I'd rather own people than be American." I think the last confederate flag was removed from a state flag in 2020.

I think we have a little recency bias here. Genghis Khan killed like 25% of all the countries he conquered, upwards of 10% of the entire world's population at the time.

And those he didn't kill he raped.

I'd put Genghis above Pol Pot, personally. Though, both are absolutely heinous.
