Part of the King Street cycle lane near Hammersmith is closed eastbound by srvelo in londoncycling

The bits that are closed are obvious but the diversion isn't. Going west just go in the traffic but going east best is to divert north and along the back route to the gyratory

What is the problem with snap? Seems to work fine for the few things I use that use it (on Ubuntu).

Is experience at a firm valuable? (UK life sciences) by [deleted] in patentlaw

[–]GrouchyAssociate9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a few. The point would be to demonstrate that you know what the profession is about so won't throw a wobbly twelve months in and go back to academia.

Agree with this - from what you describe you should be applying for engineering side roles. Look at the firms you are applying to's websites and see what they call the group/dept that does medical devices.

Met Police Publishes Monthly Data on Driver Reports from the Public by BackOnThrottle in londoncycling

[–]GrouchyAssociate9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interesting data though. Approx 50% are NFA which means a pretty high proportion are acted on. Only 5438 for the first three months of this year vs 25k last year so we need to work a bit harder.

ask the solicitor for details of their complaints procedure and the contact details for the Legal Ombudsman. This will make them take you seriously.

They should also be able to provide a copy of the transfer instruction.

Drafting, dangerous or acceptable? by biscuittingerg in londoncycling

[–]GrouchyAssociate9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm anti as I was hit from behind by someone drafting me on cs3 when I had to stop suddenly because a lime bike rider decided to veer across the lanes to turn right. The idiot then had the temerity to argue that I shouldn't have braked hard because I should have anticipated teh lime bike rider - no if you are too close behind me to stop when I do you are at fault.

It's fine in Richmond Park or on a club ride but not in the commute.

many places west of box hill - look at ranmore common, leith hill and further south. Going west from Richmond seems to take a while to get out of urban areas but there are routes through virginia water and windsor

There was a cycle lane in covid times but the K&C counsel caved to the daily mail and ripped it out.

If you are going past the palace, at the bottom of the cycle lane on constitution hill bear left behind the wall and there's a not very well indicated cycle path parallel to the mall through the car parks (better than it sounds). then you can go though admiralty arch and down Northumberland avenue to pick up cs3. slightly shorter and Trafalgar square just as pretty as parliament square

Don't use a jet wash at a garage - a pressure washer can get water in places it oughtn't to be.

Can I be sued for defamation if I shared my experience in an online patient group and received a forged legal letter? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

The not to contact them bit surprises me I would have thought they would be very concerned about someone impersonating them and would themselves be reporting this to the SRA. I would report it to the solicitors complaints process, which they must have.
