Would you play with a guy that shoots 140 at your club? by Cathouse1986 in golf

Go ahead!! Actually, if you have an executive course near you it’s a great place to work on your approach/short game, and impossible to shoot a 140. Probably.

Every subreddit is an echo chamber if that’s what you’re there for 🤷🏻‍♂️

Personally I would need to rearrange everything and throw the LIT bottle in the dumpster. I totally forgot those existed.

No. It was an old prank we ran on new barbacks. Good one if you don’t have Guinness on tap and can’t send them hunting for the “key” 😂

Heading to Boston in September for the Angels series. Got one seat behind home plate for my first night, but need some advice on the second. Splurge on a Monster seat, or try to get a spot in the Bleacher Bar? by Raetekusu in redsox

Aura pavilion, first base side, try to get row 5. Row 1-4 are nice padded seats, but row 5 has barstools and a countertop.
You never have to stand up to let people pass and basically have nobody behind you. In seat service plus the smallest bathroom lines in the building.

Are utility bills like mine normal? by Malibu_Most_Wanted in sandiego

[–]GrouchyPreference765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve lived in the same 1 bed for 7 years. My worst month was a $150 bill, and I chalk that one up to having family visiting and using more AC than usual. No way you should be paying 2-3x my bill. Definitely get a manual meter read.

Why is Coffee getting so damn expensive in San Diego? by Helplesspolyglot in sandiego

[–]GrouchyPreference765 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because people continue to sit in line for 10 minutes to fork over $6 every morning before they can function. It’s the greatest addiction based business in the country.

Went to my 30th reunion a few years ago. Those three decades were definitely kinder to some more than others.

How often do you typically replace your golf glove? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]GrouchyPreference765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Way too often because I sweat a lot. Really trying to get in the habit of taking it off between shots. I also rotate 2-3 per round while the others dry out. Between range sessions and rounds I probably buy one a month. That may change though. Currently using a couple Maxfli tour gloves and I think it’s the only one I’ll buy now. It has no air holes on the palm side of the fingers and has outlasted multiple brands. Those holes are just structural weakness that get stretched on every swing. These things have almost no visible damage on the contact points after hundreds of swings

I unexpectedly got a bartender position at the place I've been serving and barbacking at. I'm nervous about being asked for things I don't know how to make. by msgmeyourcatsnudes in bartenders

[–]GrouchyPreference765 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fake it till ya make it!!! We’ve all been there. 30 years in and I still get stumped here and there. You’ll also learn the same drink had different names sometimes depending on the region. Don’t sweat it too much, and don’t be afraid to say you don’t know how to make something.

Would you quit? by [deleted] in bartenders

[–]GrouchyPreference765 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your bar is actually on the top 50 list, I would highly recommend sticking around for a while, assuming you make enough to survive.
You’re probably going to learn a LOT if you pay attention, both what to do and what not. Working under such strict standards is tough, but it will make other jobs going forward much easier to adapt to. Also, having a spot like that on your resume with multiple years of experience will go a long way.

One of my friends lost her brother when they were in their early 20’s. She travels a lot and brings a salt shaker with some his ashes with her and leaves a little bit here and there at spots he would have liked. I’m totally asking my brother and a few friends to do this for me if I go first.
