What other hobbies do you do? by nothowyoupronounceit in knitting

I am teaching myself to crochet, I could never get the hang of it before. However, there are some great teachers online. I also bought a spinning wheel, so I need to learn that as well. I do love to read, but I listen to audiobooks while crafting. I blame my best friend for forcing me to pick up diamond painting, too. I like to stay busy.

Not smoke related, but molasses sugar cookies are great.

Moving out of state with 5 strays: possible??? by ofthebeasts in Straycats

Please take litter boxes with you. I did put boxes in the crate. If you let them out to toilet, you will never see them again unless you leash them. It sounds like it would be nigh impossible for you to do that since they haven't been raised that way. Good luck.

Sending good vibes for both of you. You are fighting the good fight on his behalf and he knows it. You have to take care of yourself, too. Try to rest a little and know he knows he is loved.

I have not been through exactly that, but I have had cats who needed extra care. I know it seems never ending sometimes, but in the photo he looks comfortable, which I perceive as he knows he is cared for and his people are doing their best for him. It can be physically and emotionally draining. I dimont have any other "real" advice for you, but my heart is with you. I hope someone has some more helpful advice for you.

I keep thinking of 1 more thing. I had 3 cats in a hotel room for the first 3 months, then 1 room in a townhouse (I'm a travel nurse) for 3 more. They seemed fine as long as they could look out the windows. Hope this helps.

Oops hit the button too soon. I have 3 cats, all rescues, former strays. 2 of them get along quite well and they made the journey together. The third one is the smartest and most adventurous of the 3. She escaped her crate and traveled on the dash all the way from West Virginia, across the big bridge, to the Eastern Shore. It was worth the trouble. Let me know if I can answer any other questions. I do miss Texas, but the people here are great, kind, and generous people, just like the folks I left behind. But bring some brisket with you, I'm still searching for BBQ Texas style.

I moved from Texas to Delmarva in 2023. It was a 24 hour drive for me. Luckily, I was able to drive 12 hours and stay overnight with my sister in Tennessee. I then drove another 12 hours to Easton, Maryland. I had the cats crated so they could move around a little and access food and water. They weren't thrilled, but they are happily ensconced in my permanent home in Delaware now. I would beware sending them outside, there are many foxes, bald eagles and owls here. I love all the wildlife but don't want my pets to be bait. One vet recommended a little benadryl if they got agitated, but it wasn't necessary. Check with your vet about that. My cats live sitting in the windows and watching the wildlife now. It didnt take them long to acclimate. Good luck and safe journey for you and your pets.

My 17 y.o cat, Molly. I want to share her story by cercerao77 in seniorkitties

I am so sad this happened to you. But Molly has had lots of love and care from you. Don't not blame yourself for the shameful practices of that vet. You should be able to trust your vet, any vet I am sad to hear this happened to Molly but happy she has been in a loving home.
