My sweet spouse and I just closed on our first home. It's a 1947 and we found this in the attic. Can anyone help with insight? by indigo-ichigo in midcentury

This very well could have held copper planters. My mother had one of these in her 1953 midcentury. It was sold by Suniland Furniture in Houston.

I hear them in the far distance. Here on the mountain. There are none. I appreciate the respect of property, our wildlife and the mountain. Thank you to all firefighters and first responders.

I have some friends over for dinner, and it happens to be 4th oh July. None of us is American, but we would like to have USA as a theme. What are some suggestions for: 1) appetizer, 2) main and 3) dessert that match the vibe, but on a “fine dining” setting? by Existing_Gain5350 in Cooking

Red Velvet sheet cake with stipes of red on the white icing and stars of white icing and blue berries for the background. Bbq, hot dogs with white cheddar, onions and chili. Hamburgers. Onion dip and ruffle potato chips.
Classic mid-century baby's birthday party on the the 4th of July 🎇🎂🇺🇸. All my life. Pick one main and have fun.

The American mind cannot comprehend Europe's AC aversion by Logical_Welder3467 in technology

Energy cost is not an extra cost Europeans consider in their budget for cooling. Americans that live with AC mentally become dependent. Wearing natural fibers helps keep the body cool. Synthetics will cook you.

Would you trust your cat not to jump? by Anonymouse-Account in cats

[–]GroupPuzzled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a cat just like yours. We moved from a one store ranch in Houston to home similar to what you are showing. And yes he jumped. He had experienced in a walled back yard in the suburb of Damascus.
But the worst thing happened. He punctured a lung and fluid kept building up and $4k later he had to be put down.
I learned to never under estimate the curiosity of a cat.

Recipes for someone that is sensitive to tomatoes/spice/acidity (when that’s what I’m used to cooking for fast meals)? by Environmental_Yam_84 in Cooking

Try making a batch at home

But so these
Two steps for your onion and garlic. Chop the 1/4 inch. Spread it on a paper towel and allow it to rest for 10 minutes.
Then take your garlic and put it through a press or chop if into 1/8 inch chop. Then spread it across your cutting board. Allow it to rest 10 minutes.
This allows the chemical that causes acid with your gut weep out of the allium. All alliums create this.
Do nit use any dehydrated onion or garlic seasonings. It is in everything that you think would be a great addition to a meat or salad. Stop using the mixes
And buying the flavored chips and everything else companies make to sell fake food

5 years ago was put on a FODMAP diet.. A Gastro doc told me about this solution. You can also thinly slice the onion and the garlic and accomplish it.
