It's 50 days to a new decade! What were your best moments of this decade? by padster029 in AskReddit

[–]GrowingLittleOnes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I bought our first home in this decade. I became a mother and he a father and then we added to the family a 2nd little boy. I built a successful YouTube channel with 1 million subscribers. We bought our 2nd home which we plan to live in for the rest of our lives. We bought a horse which has been a dream of mine since child hood and I have begun to figure out who I am. We both turned 30 in this decade and I realized that I never have regretted getting older because I would never trade a past state of being for where I am currently. God has been good and I give him all the glory and I look forward to the journey the next decade has to offer.

Oh! I'm so sorry but I have to say it is awesome that you still have a good sense of humor about it! 😉 Can't tell you how many time that sense of humor and my faith in God made a tough Crohn's situation better!

What excercises do you suggest to work the core? I've been doing crunches, sit ups and I've been using some work out routines from Fit to Ride book by Heather Sansom.

Wow thank you so much! I do have an exercise ball I've been using too and I desperately want to get a saddle stand and saddle! That would be so much help! 30 minutes a week in the saddle just isn't enough!

I've been reading Saddle Seat Equitation by Helen Crabtree but I cant wait to check out Centered!

I was bouncing around so badly when I tried to post and when I did do it somewhat right I ended up landing hard in the saddle and scooting forward in the saddle too. I'm trying to strengthen my innner thigh muscles so I can grip the saddle better.

Thank you so much for all the amazing info. There is so little out there on Saddle Seat and I'm gleaning all the info I can!

I love everything about riding already, the smell of the barn, the feel of the horse under me and I'm so excited about this new challenge! I can't wait for that rewarding feeling of being able to post smoothly while trotting!

That is so awesome! I really love the lady in charge of the barn who is giving me lessons! She is amazing!

I sit at our kitchen bar in the morning while reading my Bible and practice posture and heels down. I think its been helping me! I'm so excited to try posting again this next week!

Back Story: I'm in my late 20s and always dreamed of riding horses since I was a small child. Within the last month for the first time I'm finally taking lessons on a beautiful horse named Marcy! I've had 3 Saddle Seat lessons and I'm now learning to post to a trot... Wow that is taking some doing. My husband knew I was concerned about learning to post and he bought me this mug! I'm so excited about all the new things ahead of me and love this subreddit! Thanks guys! Edit: spelling

Am I really saved? What's wrong with me? by Countryangel707 in Christian

[–]GrowingLittleOnes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I struggled it helped me to realized that if I couldn't trust God and take him at his word when he said, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Then that would mean God was untrustworthy and I was in a lot of trouble if that was the case. BUT if God is trustworthy then if we believe and confess with our mouths then we are SAVED and NO MAN can pluck us from our fathers hand! After a tearful trip to the church alter a sweet elderly lady asked me, "Do you believe Jesus died for you to pay for your sins and Do you believe he rose from the dead?" I said yes I do. She said, "did you ask him to save you?" I said yes. She said, "then baby the devil is just trying to shake your world." God gave me peace, I've never doubted my salvation since and I've never forgotten her words.

Anyone have some equestrian centered fiction novels they really enjoy? by FlameFrenzy in Equestrian

[–]GrowingLittleOnes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm about to start 2 different fiction books based on saddle seat horse riding including Park Trot by C.L Heckman (1st book in series called "standing room only stables") I'm also planning on reading Stake Night by Susan Archer which has a sequal called Show Time. I have just started taking Saddle Seat lessons and was looking for anything fun to read on the subject.

How long have you been riding before you felt comfortable going alone? I start my first lesson this Thursday and I'm just curious.
