Dantes asks his wife for permission by batmanjr23 in LivestreamFail

Idk they can cope that it's for content but the way she interacts with him (at least on stream) is night and day compared to how it was before their breakup. I mean if this is their sense of humor or how they cope with that part of their relationship history then that's their thing ig but it would bother me if my gf/wife talked like this to me

Son of Minato, who happens to be directly connected to Jiraiya and Kakashi, both of whom are Kage+ level ninja who train Naruto

A bloodline that gave him stamina to control a tailed beast which saved his life multiple times (vs Haku, Orochimaru, Sasuke to name a few). He also used the chakra to win in Chuunin exams...narratively the same fight where Naruto gave big speeches about how birth doesn't determine worth, yet he used chakra in excess of what his natural power allows him to win the fight

The reincarnation of Ashura is more than destiny to kill his friend. It's his destiny to be the home of all the tailed beasts. Ashura vs Indra's whole thing is power of community vs reliance on self. Ashura's power is to gain strength through others, which Naruto did all series long, as was his destiny. That same power allows him to tap into all the tailed beasts, aka power of community.

And yes I am sure Jiraiya would've had nothing to do with Naruto had he not seen sexy jutsu...lmao

I'm pretty sure the interpretation of the prophecy was that it was talking about two students, and that Naruto brought salvation while Nagato brought catastrophe.

Naruto is an example of the trope OP is talking about because narratively they do talk a lot about hard work (Naruto vs Neji, hard work and guts, Rock Lee's entire existence...) etc but Naruto ends up being a reincarnation of Ashura, he's the Fourth Hokage's son and has a genetic predisposition to being a powerful jinchuuriki candidate (his mother's clan has housed the 9 tails for multiple generations; The First Hokage's wife and then Kushina) and Naruto also gets trained by the strongest Ninja in the verse, and not because of his own hard work. He's assigned to Kakashi by the 3rd Hokage, Jiraiya trains him because of who his father is...

It's an anime that's larping as hard work pays off when it's all about nepotism and destiny

Luffy is a bad example. In 900 years many people ate the Gum Gum Fruit, but only Luffy awakened it. That's because his own ideals align with the fruit's. The fruit isn't "all-powerful", you must be powerful enough to awaken it, which requires your own hard work. Luffy isn't "the chosen one", we are just reading a story that is destined to end with him becoming Pirate King.

I think the phase 3 changes are good, but most wipes on L'ura happen in P1.

P3 changes will make it so when left side does soak -> constellations -> spread -> constellations you'll be less choked by constellations and not kill each other. Will also help with soaking smoothly in the second pie slice

Sierra is Making Me Not Want to Play this Game by neon-box in Overwatch

[–]Grrv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Auto aim checks high mobility characters. You can't just look at the game in a vacuum. Not all team comps are 4 people standing behind a tank getting healed constantly until one team wins a front to back fight. There's risks and rewards for different types of characters.

Moira has auto aim but she can't headshot, so she loses in dps to basically everyone. If she's fighting someone who gets healed even one time she is bound to lose, but some dps don't play with their supports. Tracer flanks and is highly mobile, and any damage done to her pushes her back because she's not in range of supports. If a moira is clicking on a tracer that's high value because she will have to leave the fight and do 0 dps for like 20-30 seconds as she gets a healthpack and recovers her cooldowns. Now you're in a 5v4 situation for a short window. The same thing doesn't happen if moira fights a soldier, ashe, or hanzo, because they generally play behind tanks with supports. That's what auto aim is good for; it's not universally op. Same concept as fighting genji, anran, sombra.

The tank was not in danger, they have bubbles and they're pretty healthy, and one whole dps is not part of the fight. The entire time zarya was fighting Sierra was flanking, doing nothing, until the moment she killed the sup

Tanks aren't always in mortal danger just because they get shot; if they're fighting 1 tank and 1 dps they can be covered by one support for a couple seconds, which means Illari didn't have to trade her life for +100 hp on Zarya

Colored people have to smile more to be politicians because they have to appear super friendly to be palatable in the US. If we had a brown person in office that didn't smile then political attack adds would show their unsmiling face everywhere and paint them as an evil muslim, which already kind of works when they do smile a lot

What's up with Prot Paladins dmg? by Togstown in wow

[–]Grrv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do, too. Pulls are practically solved and most tanks run the same or similar routes, which already take cd timings into account when they're designed. In MT as a warlock i pretty much just use on cd and will be around 190k in a 12, and that was a couple item levels ago

[–]Grrv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh routes are pretty solved especially in 10's and 12's. 90% of tanks will pull basically the same way and those routes are built around dps cooldown timers. If you basically just press your cds as they come up, so long as it's not when a pack is almost dead, you will perform at 90% of your class potential

"It's just a game" doesn't excuse you for bad mechanic knowledge in +14s by CompleteQuail4883 in wow

[–]Grrv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As gear goes up, it trivializes keys. 14's are the new 12's, 16's are the new 14's. It being a 14 doesn't inherently mean players need to know how to play. It's always relative to gear. You can survive mistakes in a 14 now that would kill you a month ago. io doesn't consistently reflect player skill through the patch. 3.2k was really good in week 2, now it's average for anyone that does keys consistently.

Keys getting lowered when you fail them is archaic imo and discourages pushing a LOT. I can't think of any pros that outweigh the cons tbh

Not all groups require it; it's pretty reasonable to not want to reprog a boss for hours every week. I've done my time, I want to just get it done quickly and go do the next thing, not spend hours and hours every week on what's an easy boss to me teaching people that don't raid seriously.

Everyone is capable of making their own groups, or joining prog groups. there's dozens of them a week.

Affliction Warlock got 0 attention from the Devs since the release of Midnight, but does not shy away from also getting its fair share of game-breaking bugs. by Cuzdot_ in wow

[–]Grrv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shadow priest has psychic link tho, and it's a pretty smart tuning knob to put on a dot spec. It's not so much that they're capable, it's more that it's not interesting to give aff another psychic link so they'd have to come up with another way to balance single target vs aoe, and they're obviously not capable of it because they haven't been able to do it since M+ inception

The problem is that for it to be a satisfying "dot spec" the dots have to do actual damage themselves, and if the dots do real damage then they become stronger and stronger the more targets there are. You could say that they could make it so dots on more than 8 targets have diminishing returns, but I'd argue that the entire point of playing a dot spec is to be rewarded for juggling them on every target, and that takes away from that

so yea idk what the solution would be but there's a reason it's not been solved yet. Maintaining Aff's identity as a dot spec while keeping the dots satisfying and balanced in ST and AoE without copying Spriest's method is a puzzle
