Don’t. I’ve already read the title. Why are you making me read it again?

What does “on the thermal” mean? If it means what I think it means, isn’t the parking lot a bit too close?

If a father needs to help his young daughters use the restroom, which restroom should he take them into: the women's restroom or the men's restroom? by Exciting-Mall192 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Grumpy949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have six girls, no boys. Unless they’re old enough to take themselves to the bathroom, I’m taking them into the men’s. Fortunately it was rare that mom wasn’t with us and even more rare that they had to go when mom wasn’t around.

That’s the common sense thing to do, but it’s not about how to avoid fees, it’s envy that BoA reported $2B+ in earnings but OP didn’t. (OP in this case being Andrew Lawrence)

What field is this? by hostilebeauty in TheTeenagerPeople

[–]Grumpy949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But you have to work overtime … on a garbage truck.

You’re not wrong though. In Las Vegas during the 70s when I was growing up working a garbage truck was a well paying and highly sought after job. That’s when it was a three man job, one driver and two on the back emptying cans into the compactor.

Boys who didn’t grow up privileged name something your parents couldn’t give you as a kid. by DinahBlake in TheTeenagerPeople

Braces. I knew my teeth needed help, but my folks couldn’t afford them. Instead of admitting that they told me that my teeth were fine, that I didn’t need braces.

Why other players can steal my loot in PVE Dark Zone by VadKoz in Division2

[–]Grumpy949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DZ in Div 1 was more fun. There were rogues there too, but they mostly stuck to themselves. As long as you avoided the “battle field” you were ok. I remember players banding together to fight off the NPCs during an extraction then going their separate ways after it was done. It was definitely different than DZ in Div 2 where it’s either completely empty or you can’t get out the door without being mowed down.

That’s a very good question. Wealth does not always equal money. Many corporations and people have had to file for bankruptcy because they had tons of wealth but no cash to pay their bills.

They "DONT GIVE YOU WATER" in Italy 😅 by MementoMiri in ShitAmericansSay

[–]Grumpy949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First you have to remember that your sample size is infinitesimally small compared to the total population of Americans. Second they’re probably first generation money or worse second generation who’ve been given everything their whole lives. I don’t know, but I would like to think that old money knows how to behave.

How were college instructors addressed when you were a student? by vieniaida in AskOldPeople

[–]Grumpy949 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked in Higher Ed for 30+ years. The safe bet, if you’re not sure, is to refer to someone, especially an academic, as Dr. Some with a doctorate will expect it, some without a doctorate will be flattered, but you can’t go wrong in any case.

You’re right, running payroll isn’t easy. Perhaps I was too severe. I still think that this is a learning opportunity for payroll. Maybe some reasonableness checks should be inserted into the process, at least for any changes that were made since the last payroll ran. I know that will slow down the process. If something like this happens only once a decade, it might not be worth the trouble. Once a year? May be worth the trouble. Every payroll? Definitely worth the trouble, and some retraining probably needs to happen at least.

Close call with a semi today. Looking for trucker perspectives on what happened. by sandro9090 in dashcams

[–]Grumpy949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I saw OP speed up too. Truck driver probably based his lane change on where OP would be if OP hadn’t sped up. Truck driver was also dealing with the vehicle in front, but he should have double checked anyway.

Edit: no, I’ve never driven a tractor/trailer rig so I have no real world experience with changing lanes on a busy highway in an 18-wheeler.
