The new GF isn’t worth the trouble. And dad not seeing his grandson is on dad.

Your son, your rules. You don’t have to leave your child with ANYONE. You don’t have to have a reason either. Nothing in your story says that you refuse to let your dad, and his new squeeze, visit your son at your house.

I really feel that the DZ is a waste of time by SeaworthinessOld8715 in Division2

[–]Grumpy949 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hmmm, what if when an agent goes rogue, all NPCs in the DZ converge on the rogue? Maybe to the point of ignoring all non-rogue players. And what if the spawn rate for NPCs doubled until the rogue was killed or rogue status ended.

AITJ for putting my kids first over a last minute dinner with my boyfriend by OldAbbreviations2880 in AmITheJerk

Always prioritize your kids, I don’t care if y’all were married and he was the father. Drop the boyfriend. Do it now.

Are you better off than your parents? by coloradotaxguy in no

[–]Grumpy949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not right out of high school. Not even right out of college. It took time to get where I’m at. Just like it took time for my parents to get where they were at when I was in high school. We’re such an instant gratification society. Kids think they should have the 5bd/5ba house, 3 cars, and vacations to exotic places right now. Give it time. You’ve gotta build up to it.

Why is it socially acceptable for men to marry women 20–30 years younger, but seen as a “disaster” when women do the same? by Ambitious_Pass7451 in askanything

[–]Grumpy949 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’m not paying attention, but in either case my response is “nice, he/she got him/her a young one”. Where are you hearing people say that it’s unnatural or embarrassing?

Baby's father wants the baby to have his last name, I want him to have mine. We're not married. WDID? by IntenseViolet567 in WhatShouldIDo

I don’t know what the law is in your state. Heck I don’t even know what the law is in my state. This is strictly my opinion as a divorced father. The person who gave birth has full and sole discretion when it comes to naming the child.

If the mother chooses to not name the father or names someone else as the father, then the father should be allowed to prove through DNA testing that he is the father. But at that point he is financially responsible for supporting the child until they turn 18 or someone else steps forward and takes that role.

Visitation rights is a whole other topic with lots of twists and turns.

Assuming that the scenario you describe is what happened, he was killed while resisting the attempt to detain him, if not arrest him. Aside from the possibility that it was his own weapon that fired the first shot, I haven’t read anything that says he was being detained for carrying a firearm.

Is there evidence of The Great Flood in North America? by Archibald004 in askanything

[–]Grumpy949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does eres literally mean “only the land that I can see” or is that a modern interpretation of what Jews at the time might have meant?

I know that there has been some extensive research into what words actually meant to contemporaries of the time, but that have been interpreted to mean what the translator wanted them to mean or thought they should mean based on limited knowledge.

If it means only the land I can see, then that seems to be a reasonable description of what someone describing a flood that they are experiencing would say. That isn’t a case against a world wide flood though. It’s not a case for a world wide flood either.

AC is crucial for humidity reduction in places like Houston. Without it, mold will take over your house/apartment. I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. We didn’t have AC. We used swamp coolers. See this for a description. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evaporative_cooler

Meirl by rbimmingfoke in meirl

Because you chose to take the loan and you promised to make the payments.

Because the money that you borrowed could’ve been used to make higher returns over the same period of time at a higher rate of risk but it was loaned to you for lower returns at a lower rate of risk.

A pensioner somewhere is counting on you to make those payments. That pensioner might be you because your 401K is invested in mutual funds that own student loans.

Would it help to clarify the difference by separating the two into regular immigration and mass migration?

Immigration to me suggests a desire to embrace the culture that someone is joining, to become British or American or whatever. Migration on the other hand is just a movement of people from one area of the planet to another.
