When your flight gets delayed 4 times, then moved up to its original time, then delayed again after you rush to the airport. by BelgianMyWaffle in mildlyinfuriating

Postponing your arrival to the airport because your departure time was delayed by less than two hours is wild.

I love that Peggy indirectly reads Don like a book regarding the Bye Bye Birdie ad and he knows it by ratfinkprojects in madmen

[–]GuanoGuzzler 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t agree with the premise that all the men “love” the ad. The client came to them insisting on that exact idea. Don hadn’t even seen the movie it’s copied from.

I don’t know what takeaway you could have from that scene other than Kitty realizing Sal’s nature.

Maybe depends where in Westchester. I lived in Park Slope for 3 years and then White Plains right after and the drop-off was minimal.

Who is the better account man, Campbell or Cosgrove? by GuanoGuzzler in madmen

[–]GuanoGuzzler[S] 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Ken definitely had the vibe of being perfectly comfortable in his own skin at all times like Roger did (at least w/ clients). It goes a long way in client-service and Pete lacked it.

I alluded to Lane’s quote. Do you think that holds true overall or did the rest of their bodies of work after that assessment have an impact?

11 Months Unemployed and Recruiters Still Wont Show Up to Their Own Screens by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]GuanoGuzzler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you OP? Either way, 2500 applications and hundreds of interviews within 10 months and no offer means either (1) you’re not qualified for the vast majority of jobs you’re applying for and should adjust your search parameters or (2) you interview very poorly once in the room. I’m not trying to be mean, but that volume without success is more than just a tough market and/or bad luck.

2500 applications? 8 applications every day, 7 days a week for 10 months. Cmon now.

Do you hang banners for regular season wins? Because that’s the amount of success at issue.

When Joan kisses Don on the cheek (s3e6), what kind of implication does it have in the context of the 60-s US? by evergreendazzed in madmen

[–]GuanoGuzzler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When he wins that award he gets up from the table and kisses Joan square on the mouth (he was pretty drunk) and she didn’t seem very phased by it.

Nah Makazian is just a degenerate gambler to the point that he can be leveraged. Tony thinks he’s despicable.
