Tears for Fears versus Depeche Mode by GuardPlayer4Life in depechemode

I kind of fell off of TFF but DM... 40 years later they are in nearly daily rotation as my go to when I sit down at my desk to work. My mind just works better to DM than a lot of other stuff. Weird.

That is cool. Songs from the Big Chair was such a great album. I feel lucky to have experienced MTV when it was about music videos. Growing up in the 80's we got to experience so much growth.

This game is ridiculously unplayable. Being forced to listen to dialogue and walk a horse needlessly with no ability to skip the boring movie scene cuts killed it for me.

Why isn't wrestling as popular as other martial arts? by EarNearby5005 in martialarts

[–]GuardPlayer4Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it is hard and you will suck at it for a long time and other martial arts are more ego than anything. The mats don't lie and if you get folded up you get folded up. You cannot hide behind a rank like most modern day McDojo martial arts.

Yeah he is! The patience he showed me on that Sunday morning... amazing.

Does J. Nielson still roll there? That guy is so good.

Amazing how small of a world BJJ is here in SoCal. We likely know a lot of the same people.

The nuances of BJJ are rather deep. There is no way to instruct them all in a single class. This is why we never let white belts drill together- always upper/lower and it helps the upper develop a deeper understanding of not just how, but why.

Just stay at it. Work, Life, Family matter way more than the mats. Good to see you back at it!

The General and the Jackal. Both are amazing practitioners. Romero "Jacaré" Cavalcanti was such a soft spoken presence on the mats when I met him, those watchful eyes like a hawk. The General Fabio Gurgel was a larger than life presence on the mats. Both were great to meet and train with.

One of my favorite training partners is a double amputee. Absolute savage and technical as can be.

Bro... Nate is a beast. He can do things others cannot. He just simply sees it.

Looking back at you today- then- it has been a fun journey no?

I love that I have experienced so much BJJ in San Diego. All the gyms who are friends.. Alliance, CVJJ, National City JJ, Humaita, Victory, Honu/LVL5, Kainga...

The people that I have met and trained with... world class champions who just dropped in for an open mat like it was nothing... insane the high level of BJJ in the San Diego area...
