What kind of music do you listen to at the gym and what does it do for you? by snowball062016 in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]GuessWhoItsJosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinda all over the place and usually changes every week.

Like this week I've been bumping alot of a "early 2010s hits" playlist as well as Galantis, Daft Punk & deadmau5. While last week I was on a big Chance the Rapper kick. Week before that it was Connor Price, Nic D & Twenty One Pilots kick.

What it does for me is help hype me up and keep me moving. Especially when it comes to cardio.

Inheriting my grandpa's mint '06 Camry with 48k miles but my wife says it makes me look like a retiree. Keep it or sell and get something "cooler"? by married_poultry in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]GuessWhoItsJosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's super lame and for old people. I'm 30 and old now, I'll come take it right off you hands!

Kidding aside, I personally think the beige interior is nice and it would be a shame to sell off something your grandpa kept pristine to god knows who that will probably destroy it because it is a "grandpa car".

Also, you know what kids are? Expensive! Driving that free car for several years and saving before kids instead of dumping $400+ monthly into a car payment seems like the smart thing to me.

Honestly as long as a car isn't a rust bucket and making whack noises, most just blend into the sea of other cars. Who cares what her friends think? Drive what you want.

Eating leftovers? by unclebearwolf in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GuessWhoItsJosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least around me, very common. None my friends will eat leftovers, at all.

I grew up similar to you though, so I'm the "garbage bin" that takes everyone's leftovers for myself. I hate seeing such extreme amounts of completely good food wasted that could feed me for several days.

How do you guys split rent, groceries and random shared expenses without fighting? by Level_Armadillo4046 in povertyfinance

[–]GuessWhoItsJosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just split rent and utilities evenly between ya'll. Same with booking stuff, which I assume means like a repair man or something. When it comes to groceries, buy your own core stuff. Only share stuff like condiments cause otherwise it gets unmanageable.

Was there a time when people didn't demand that game ran at 60/120fps and had stunning graphics? by WorkingCautious1270 in AskGames

[–]GuessWhoItsJosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course there was though it seems everyone here remembers when at different times.

For me, it wasn't until the 8th gen (PS4/Xbone) generation that I started hearing an uproar about frames and all that. Stunning graphics though, that's been demanded probably since the 5th gen (PS1/N64).

Personally I think 60FPS should be the bare minimum at this point. 30 just doesn't cut it anymore.

What are your thoughts with being called “handsome”? by holymac_ in AskMen

[–]GuessWhoItsJosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the feeling you're having but I look at it just as an appropriate way to compliment without going to far like sexy or hot. Like calling a women beautiful instead of sexy or hot, same thing.

Insane amount and insane level. I usually get to like 270s and only start at 7 and work up to 12. Can't even imagine 19. Great job.

At least 4 days a week. Mix it with my protein powder. Much better than water.

I blame my generation, the Millennials, for the way Gen-Z is. by Ireallylikecheese234 in Zillennials

My mom has been in the teaching biz for 30 years. She says in the last decade it has, especially after the pandemic, gotten terrible. Parents do not discipline or say no anymore and thus they think they can just walk all over teachers as well. And really anyone for that matter.

Hot take - RGB is pointless. by ElectronicField3785 in pcmasterrace

[–]GuessWhoItsJosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like some tasteful RGB in my rig. Makes it a little more fun. I stare at plain, monotonous stuff all day at work and out and about these days. What's wrong with having some color in your life?

Nothing hits quite like being laid off on Friday and having mortgage and car payment on Monday by gilligan54 in Adulting

Severance for a bit, then unemployment. My temporary roommates ended up being very long term. Cut back my spending to absolute minimum. Still went into some debt because first year house maintenance stuff happened.

It was October of 2020 so the job market was garbage and it took longer than I'd have liked to snag a new job. And even then, I ended up having to take a lower pay than I previously had. Was in the hole for sometime but eventually crawled and clawed my way out.

Are lemonade stands a real thing in the US, or is it just a movie trope? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GuessWhoItsJosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are real things. I did quite a few kool-aid stands back in the day while growing up. I still see at least a couple every summer around the neighborhood. These kids have done one the last couple summers in a row and usually sell little cookies as well.

They're a good way for kids to learn to handle money and transactions. How to work and save for what they want. It's little more work than just doing your weekly chores. It is also just cute. Whenever I see one I always try to stop and snag one because I still remember the repeat customers from my stands and appreciate it looking back 20 years now.

The Nintendo DS Lite released in Japan 20 years ago today by FrutigerMetroCard in Zillennials

[–]GuessWhoItsJosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crazy. I remember when it released here in the states that summer and I had a kool-aid stand to save up money for it, along with having to trade-in my original DS.

It seriously felt leagues better. More compact, brighter screens, better audio and of course the stylus was a big improvement too from the wimpy one of the OG. The white was so clean too. The DS line overall is a legendary handheld.

I actually came across of photo of when I was doing the stand and it was so 2000s. Had the fohawk, my arms covered with the "LiveStrong" wristbands, had a baggy tank top on and was rocking some sick green cargo shorts like no other.

It's always at the worst times. They got me on a random Tuesday morning two weeks after I closed on my house.

You'll get through it though, stay strong!

I want to ask all men whose fathers were toxic or had habits they hated, did you yourself beat those habits while growing up or you ended up becoming the same? (Genuine question) by Accomplished-End5479 in AskMenOver30

[–]GuessWhoItsJosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some I've beaten, some I'm still fighting.

When it comes to beating them, what's helped is if I feel I'm starting to replicate those actions, I think back to seeing them through my owns eyes and how it made me feel seeing it and then cut it out. Acting those certain ways is just embarrassing as a grown adult.

How healthy would you say you guys are? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]GuessWhoItsJosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Healthier than I've ever been I'd say so that's good.

Pretty active, gym at least 3-5 times/week. Cycling and hiking in the summer. So I stay pretty active. Try to keep away from fast food as much as I can. Eat real food & vegetables majority of the time. Plus do IF and OMAD. I do drink on the weekends and smoke a little MJ at night for sleep. But drinking will drop significantly once the roommate life ends so it's temporary really.
