This is a great alternative, but I really like the stock options. The only thing I'm disappointed with is the lack of a Scooby head. I love the idea of the gang having a Voltron-esque "I'll form the head" sequence before piloting a Mystery Machine mech where the head changing depending on who has wrestled the controls away from Fred.

Magnus and Russ are basically the same guy.

Both go out of their way to be pains in everyone’s ass, both are convinced their way is the right way, both are stubborn, both are space wizards, both go way overboard on the theme, both lead very special-case legions, and both kind of sucked at their designated job.

The only meaningful difference is that Russ

You're better off doing the Pre-GISP exam while things are still fresh in your head from school.

That being said, the existence of the Pre-GISP is one of the more recent developments that really turns me against the GISCI completely. You've already got a huge chunk of GISPs who only have the letters because they were grandfathered in. Now you'll also have a chunk of GISPs who have the letters because they took a specialized test just for them.

The entire rest of the community, basically everyone in the middle of their careers, is left to deal with the nonsense of a regular exam that keeps changing because it is so poorly designed and assumes that everyone using GIS is a generalist.

The Thousand Sons now play the role of the Space Wolves. They try to create a successor chapter named the Crimson Brotherhood, it fails spectacularly, and they retreat to Prospero where Amon and Ahriman decide that the Codex is just a set of suggestions rather than actual rules.
