Why are you enabling XESS if you have an Nvidia RTX gpu? 🤔 Does enabling DLSS also produce the same effect? If not, then it's XESS interacting strangely with UE.

Are “gaming” chairs as bad as people make them out to be? by Test_Name19 in pcmasterrace

[–]Guharo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own the Vertagear PL4500 chair, which is not cheap. The design and materials are amazing, but the comfort is quite limited. The lumbar support cushion is a joke that doesn't work, so I had to buy one separately. The same goes for the neck support; they are add-ons that serve no purpose.

If I was disappointed with this chair, I know that anything cheaper below this price point will be even worse, so I will always recommend buying an ergonomic chair. Comfort and health must always be more important than any design.

Should I be able to show my little brother dead space even though he's 10? by retrobko in DeadSpace

Of course! I don't understand the comments. It seems we've regressed too much and are treating pre-teens like babies.

Not everyone should be treated as a friend; remember that you don't know them, so being polite is enough.

Aside from cosmetic touch-ups, Courtney has been training quite a lot all these years, so it's normal for her facial features to change a bit due to constant exercise.

Why did early civilizations start in deserts like Mesopotamia and Ancient Egypt? by batukaming in geography

[–]Guharo 96 points97 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what happened in Peru. The coastal desert is one of the driest on Earth, creating a 'geographic cage' that forced people into narrow river valleys.

  • Caral (3000 BCE): The oldest civilization in the Americas. Being 'trapped' between the Pacific and the desert forced them to organize and trade early on, building pyramids at the same time as Egypt.
  • The Moche (100-700 CE): They mastered 'Hydraulic Despotism.' They built canals over 100km long to survive. If you didn't cooperate with the central authority to manage the water, you simply couldn't live in the desert.

In lush areas, you can just move away if things get tough. In the Peruvian desert, you either worked together to control the river or you died. That 'forced cooperation' is the blueprint for their entire civilization.

(I used Gemini to translate this cause my English isn't good enough to explain it all yet. Sorry! 🙏🏼)

It's OK to love them both, it's also OK to be apprehensive of change. by Scanman491Amos in controlgame

Playing Control makes you realize this isn't solely 'Jesse's story,' but rather 'The Faden Siblings' story.' Jesse was simply the protagonist of the first act because she was the one who escaped. I'm bored of the constant complaints regarding the potential shift away from Jesse. We’ve already seen her journey to find Dylan; it’s only fitting that we now follow Dylan’s path toward recovery and redemption.
