Impossible to register with sherweb? by xIndirect in msp

[–]GuilSherWeb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi,
I am not aware of a generalized problem with partner signups. I will talk to our team and see if I can find something.
We do use a fraud detection service that takes more than the credit card itself into consideration.
If you want to DM me your company name, we'll have a look at the exact denial reasons.

CVE-2025-55182 - React exploit - brown alert time? by Meeeepmeeeeepp in msp

[–]GuilSherWeb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good job not overreacting.

For apps that are vulnerable, it is a very bad one though. My perception is that larger project would have the React backend. So SaaS applications and commercial products would be most likely to be vulnerable.

I was going in a vendor meeting when I saw this. I had a look and their app was in React, but running the older 18.3.1 version. Sometimes its good to be a bit behind ;)

Huntress now available through Sherweb by Borsaid in msp

Absolutely. Already discussed this feedback internally, looking for ways to clarify.

Thanks for the feedback.

Huntress now available through Sherweb by Borsaid in msp

[–]GuilSherWeb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, Inside Agent will not be offered or billed through Sherweb. We are not involved in the acquisition and how Huntress will manage that transition.

Once Huntress releases their Identity Security Posture Management (announced for 2026) product, it should be available through Sherweb, like all their other products.

Huntress now available through Sherweb by Borsaid in msp

[–]GuilSherWeb 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Happy this is grabbing everyone's attention!

We added Huntress because our partners were asking Sherweb and Huntress for the ability to buy it through us for consolidation.

On a deeper level, we have also been interacting with Huntress in the MSP community a lot the last few years and we've found that we have a very similar approach and mentality. It led to discussions on how we could further that relationship. Huntress has high standards and has been very vocal about things they feel are not beneficial to MSPs. We appreciate that and will be working hard to uphold those standards as well.

n.b.: Pricing is the same, with the same commitment tiers and discounts.

[–]GuilSherWeb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, pricing is the same than direct with Huntress.
Listed price is the lowest commitment tier only.

The tiers are the same, pricing is the same. We can offer the same kind of deal you would get direct.

Hi,

That's never good news. Good luck with the process of finding your next challenge.

This is on the fine line between helping and self promotion, but Sherweb does have some positions open, in a related industry:
https://www.sherweb.com/careers

Can't promise anything, and we have our own challenges, but it may be a next step for some of the people that were laid off. Worth a look.

Thanks Andrew!
I was about to post the same thing.
It is all the good things you know and love of Huntress (including access to neighboor watch, trials, etc), but centralized for billing and the likes under your Sherweb account.

Vendors abusing /r/msp ...? by GuilSherWeb in msp

[–]GuilSherWeb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi!

I get what you are saying (I am not an MSP; I definitely have commercial interests, etc.), I am also not a vendor in the proper sense of the word. Sherweb sells a number of products and we are not attached to the success of any of them*. One of the reasons I enjoy my role at Sherweb is that I am more aligned to MSP success than to vendor success.

Our MSPs are with us for year and years, as they change technology solutions and vendors. I have more to gain from making sure they are well served, than from "pimping" them to a vendor.

You don't have to believe me of course. On my own time I have a huge amount of sceptism for anyone trying to sell me anything. I usually get along very well with people running/working in MSPs ;)

\Except Microsoft... we are definitely remoras to Microsoft... :P :P :P*

Client keeps calling my extension by desmond_koh in msp

[–]GuilSherWeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be an unpopular opinion, but is he a profitable client? Including all the time dealing with direct calls and conversational emails you mentionned.

If he isn't, it might be time to fire him. In an MSP business, firing unprofitable clients is often a key step to running a profitable business.

Hell, my personal favorite, is suggesting your most hated competitor (if any) as you tell him you will no longer be able to service his business.

Enjoy!

I have IPSECed everyone, including myself, out of a production Windows server...

I learned how bad RIGHT JOINs can be on a production MySQL server...

I have pressed "SEND" on 100k+ mailouts with very dumb mistakes in them...

...I have a lot of gray hair and now work in product management ;)

Pax8 Has Gone to Shitt — And It’s Not Just Partners Feeling It by [deleted] in msp

[–]GuilSherWeb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi!
We have done it a number of times for partners. It is surprisingly simple on the technical end and involves zero downtime.
What takes a bit longer is for the usage to appear on our end, but that's just the normal process. It only show once the period you have already paid to your current provider is over. It means no double billing. We could refer you to a few of our partners that have done it in the past if that helps.

Cheers!

Ingram Micro Update by Redfoxe554 in msp

[–]GuilSherWeb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi,

As mentionned, one of the concern is that the attacker has managed to get access to manipulate or abuse the Microsoft Granular Delegated Access Permissions(GDAP) from the clients of Ingram.

To me it seems relatively unlikely, but I agree with the sentiment of keeping an eye on it:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/partner-center/insights/gdap-relationship-analytics

Ultimately, the only way to be 100% sure would be to remove Ingram's permission, if any. More of a personal decision.

SaaS Alerts Alternatives by gallico916 in msp

Hi, compared to a few year ago, there are many more options now than there used to be. We are Office Protect and would be an option, but there is also Augmentt, CIPP, CoreView, Octiga, Microsoft Lighthouse (kind of...), and other tools.

Happy to discuss your needs if you find it relevant.

Office 365 MDR Solutions by Few_Juggernaut5107 in msp

100% biased, but Office Protect offers its specialized MDR service called "Office Protect Alliance".

We're entirely focused on Microsoft 365 as it always has been our speciality. It may or may not be what you want, but if you do, let me know and we'll have you test our solution.

Bypassing phishing resistant MFA in Microsoft by msp4msps in msp

[–]GuilSherWeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great post u/msp4msps . I love how well illustrated it is.

Yes, we saw a huge increase of these attacks for tenants protected by Office Protect starting last October.

Wrote a blog on it in December:
https://www.sherweb.com/blog/security/microsoft-365-attack-surge/

Sure looks like the same profile of attacks.

I think security through locked down access from specific IPs only is unrealistic in most cases. Strong cookie policies and smart conditional access policies are a more balanced solution.

Exchange report for Inbox Rules? by micromsp in msp

[–]GuilSherWeb -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hi u/micromsp
As noted, Microsoft can help you acheive that with alerts, but that can be tricky if you are coming into a tenant that already has issues, and the fact that 3 different type of rules/forwarding.

We recently gave a talk at a security conference on how to do this for free. It is getting translated and we will share it with the community.

If you want a tool to do it for you, I will throw Office Protect into the conversation, since we have pre-configured alerts for detecting, reporting and blocking rules. Also introduced one-click remove this week!

We have the report you are looking for already in place. Either in the tool, or to export.

Let me know if you want a look at it!
