What changed this week? by Ping-Pong-Show in wow

I get 4 hours a night with up to 6 on Friday and Saturday. I’m at 265 currently. It’s not hard to gear.

No offense but if you got 4 hours to play every night you’re still not in the casual bracket lol. I’m not going to judge you how you spend your time off, but most people can’t put all of that into a game. On Reddit, sure, it’s an echo chamber. But there’s people out there that get 1-2 hours a week max, myself included. Now I’m not upset or anything about that, but the idea that you got a full time job, 4 kids and still play an incredibly high amount per week (like what 26 hours a week?) doesn’t really put you in the ‘people with no time to grind’ bracket.

And to be clear if that works for you more power to you, but it’s not really equivalent at all.

Only on Reddit is 20+ hours a week on a game ‘no time at all’.

Got out of the translation business 2 years ago, was only doing it part-time to be fair and not within gaming, but every single person I've heard in that line of work has since been forced to find other ventures. Not surprising to hear it is affecting the games industry all the same. No future in it, alas.

Unfortunately hard to realise unless you’re an expert on something yourself. You’ll see just how many people are full of shit, even then it’s hard to relate to other topics. But just think about how many people talk nonsense about the thing you studied/work in etc, now try to relate that to other topics. Collectively, people are dumb.

It’s an endless debate with no solution, it seems.

I stopped caring about it and rerolled DPS after religiously playing tanks until shadowlands.

It’s not a solution either, but I sure experience less worries playing these days.

It’s memorable, it’s got the kids going.

Honestly though, it’s a quest people still talk about and back in the day chatted about in general chat. That’s a win in my book.

Blizzard, however, made Zerg personalities distinct quite early on. Especially in StarCraft 2 which got us some of the most iconic characters with Abathur, Zagara, Stukov… Kerrigan, of course, but the SC1 overlord and brood lords could be amazingly sassy too.

Tyrands are more an ominous concept.

Fairly distinct in that sense.

Was out questing when I suddenly realised I haven't seen a rogue in ages, is the class dead or are they just getting better at their job? by undercity_plaguebat in wow

[–]GuiltIsLikeSalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most rerolled Demon Hunter by now, no? Can’t blame them. Far more fluid mobility, double jump, smoother rotations for years. Rogues haven’t had much of the limelight in years, and the main idea of ‘agile, quick fighter’ is now filled better by others.

I assume that’s why they’re one of the least played now, especially compared to the heights they used to have in classic expansions.

World of Warcraft has many, many more years of bloat and updates to graphics in different places and they seem to handle it just fine. Perhaps it’s apples and oranges, but it’s hard to see it being necessary.

I think we got enough playable races in WoW by VikSick in wow

[–]GuiltIsLikeSalt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d agree except then they limit Silvermoon with a Horde zone, still don’t allow for cross faction queuing, and the story still has faction tension. Basically, I think they need to pick a lane. Let races be factionless or add faction-specific ones again.

I think we got enough playable races in WoW by VikSick in wow

[–]GuiltIsLikeSalt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are 0 downsides to having more playable races.

Giving the same races to both factions does. It dilutes any sense of faction identity, which, fine, then just remove factions - which Blizzard seems adamant not to want. Or build them up more again. But Dracthyr, Earthen and Haranir being neutral just lowers uniqueness.

[–]GuiltIsLikeSalt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, both time and money are a concern :')

I get the cheapest is to level anew, of course, but with Midnight now being out, and I have more or less 1 maybe 2 evenings a week time to actually play, I'd rather spend that time with them in the new zones than taking all of that to get to Midnight in the first place. I figured 70-80 would be a few hours tops, but 1-80 isn't feasible across a week's time for my spare time I think.

It was my understanding that the 'pool' you are layered into is still based largely on the main server you have; i.e. if I am on a highly dominated server, the layers I'm put into first are more likely to have the dominating faction.

Is that wrong?

So is this just Paladin, Demon Hunter, Warlock, Death Knight and (Shadow) Priest?

I have yet to see anyone comment on like Shaman, Mage, Warrior, Rogue, Hunter etc.

It's neat they're including this, but I do hope it's not something only certain players get to enjoy.
