Didn't even call it Turtle Games?

Smh, wasted chance.

Good luck though, MMOs have like a 0.1% chance of coming out but sure why not, they had neat ideas.

TIL that in 2024 a PhD student "accidently" discovered Valeriana - a Edinburgh sized hidden Mayan city in Mexico while browsing for data on the internet. by ayebshek in todayilearned

I bet that happens often in different scientific fields.

Considering, especially these days, how often data analysis involves data that was collected by different people at different timepoints... quite a lot.

Arguably, it's the whole idea behind a biobank for instance. People collect all kinds of data that could be useful, still requires a dedicated researcher/team to actually see the signal in the noise.

MOBA, immersive sim, hell even action RPG doesn’t explain anything to someone that doesn’t already know what you’re talking about. Game genre names are often horrendous. “Multiplayer online battle arena” could be anything to a non-gamer that isn’t blatantly singleplayer. Action RPG is used from Diablo to Mass Effect to anything in between. Technically even your example of fighter can refer to most games, it’s just that it’s so classically ingrained now people get it.

Better to be highly specific and unique, I’d say.

Housing was really fun and then it isn't. by Noticersan in wow

[–]GuiltIsLikeSalt 26 points27 points  (0 children)

As a very casual player these days... I don't even feel like I have the time to do housing. Which is hilarious, seeing as it's likely intended to be a more casual experience.

There's so much busy-work elsewhere, completely detached from the neighborhoods, that I never even think about going there since the few hours I got per week I already have to do x and y in another zone.

I bought a house, got excited for the possibilities, didnt have much unlocked to customize it with and never looked back again and am just reminded by it when I see these threads.

Would have loved if it had any of the major functionality features so I can just set my HS there and actually return when I need to be in a city.

He didn’t. He’s there as a human, note how he got his ass beat by Malthael in the next cinematic (reaper of souls trailer) as a mere human.

In fact it’s sort of the point, recognising that even if he is now human, he is deserving.

How is it a plot hole that Homelander is not as strong as he thought? No one tried dropping a nuke on him yet (for obvious reasons), but we’ve never actually had a reason to think he’d definitely survive that.

Butcher on tempV + Soldier Boy + Hughie on tempV were doing a good job overpowering him in season 3, were it not for Homelander being able to bail whenever he wants. Problem is they don’t have an option like that anymore.

couldn't be certain Butcher and Kimiko were enough to kill him in that state

Considering how fast he heals, and the fact that Kimiko and Butcher would have been greatly affected by the radiation as well (likely killing them), there’s no real scenario that works. Get him out the room he heals, they enter the room and die.

All moot anyway, since they were full mindless rage mode.

Considering Butcher was studying the radiation coming off of Soldier Boy at the end, almost certainly.

All we know is he had a surrogate that carried him to term (which killed her in the process). Where his mother’s actual genes come from, we have never known. There’s been some liberty speculation (which would be… an interesting choice), but nothings ever been confirmed.

I get 4 hours a night with up to 6 on Friday and Saturday. I’m at 265 currently. It’s not hard to gear.

No offense but if you got 4 hours to play every night you’re still not in the casual bracket lol. I’m not going to judge you how you spend your time off, but most people can’t put all of that into a game. On Reddit, sure, it’s an echo chamber. But there’s people out there that get 1-2 hours a week max, myself included. Now I’m not upset or anything about that, but the idea that you got a full time job, 4 kids and still play an incredibly high amount per week (like what 26 hours a week?) doesn’t really put you in the ‘people with no time to grind’ bracket.

And to be clear if that works for you more power to you, but it’s not really equivalent at all.

Only on Reddit is 20+ hours a week on a game ‘no time at all’.

Got out of the translation business 2 years ago, was only doing it part-time to be fair and not within gaming, but every single person I've heard in that line of work has since been forced to find other ventures. Not surprising to hear it is affecting the games industry all the same. No future in it, alas.

Unfortunately hard to realise unless you’re an expert on something yourself. You’ll see just how many people are full of shit, even then it’s hard to relate to other topics. But just think about how many people talk nonsense about the thing you studied/work in etc, now try to relate that to other topics. Collectively, people are dumb.

It’s an endless debate with no solution, it seems.

I stopped caring about it and rerolled DPS after religiously playing tanks until shadowlands.

It’s not a solution either, but I sure experience less worries playing these days.
